Vocabulary is an important part of English that helps you deal with all kinds of questions in objective as well as descriptive papers of various exams. In the recently concluded Banking Exams, we witnessed that a major part of the exam was based on vocabulary. Many questions were vocab based and we can expect the same in the upcoming exams. 1. EXHILARATING :प्राणपोषक
Meaning: Invigorating, stimulating, or exciting
Synonyms: Thrill, Uplift
Antonyms: Depress, Bore
Example: The music playing at the club was catchy and exhilarating.
2. EXACERBATE : ख़राब करना
Meaning: To make worse or increase the severity of
Synonyms: Aggravate, Annoy
Antonyms: Calm, Soothe
Example: The doctor told me not to run as it can exacerbate my knee injury.
3. INCERTITUDE : संदेह 
Meaning: Uncertainty; doubt
Synonyms: Confused, Suspicious
Antonyms: Assurance, Belief
Example: The incertitude of his position in life caused him to postpone his marriage.
4. MORDANT : चुभता हुआ 
Meaning: Cruel and criticizing in a humorous way
Synonyms: Unpleasant, Sarcastic
Antonyms: Kind, Good
Example: When they come to read it about the end of 1924 there will be some very severe and mordant criticism.
5. DESOLATE : उजाड़, सुनसान 
Meaning: A desolate place is empty and not attractive, with no people or nothing pleasant in it
Synonyms: Gloomy, dull
Antonyms: Cheerful, Happy
Example: The house stood in a bleak and desolate landscape.
6. CREDIBLE : प्रामाणिक 
Meaning: Able to be believed or trusted
Synonyms: Plausible, Probable
Antonyms: Improbable, Unlikely
Example: The family in the television programme could not be credibly compared with a real one.
7. COGNIZANCE :  हस्तक्षेप , संज्ञान 
Meaning: To take notice of and consider something, especially when judging
Synonyms: Awareness, Familiarity
Antonyms: Unfamiliar, Ignorance
Example: The lawyer asked the jury to take cognizance of the defendant’s generosity in giving to charity.
8. IMPASSIVE :आवेगहीन
Meaning: Without emotion; apathetic; unmoved.
Synonyms: Cynical, Emotionless
Antonyms: Emotional, Sentimental
Example: The defendant sat impassively in the dock while evidence was given against him.
9. TRUCE :  युद्धविराम संधि
Meaning: A short interruption in a war or argument, or an agreement to stop fighting or arguing for a period of time
Synonyms: Concord, Agreement
Antonyms: Disagreement, Fight
Example: Following last month’s riots, two of the city’s biggest gangs have finally declared a truce, ending years of bloodshed.
10. AGGRIEVE : पीड़ा देना 
Meaning: To make someone unhappy and angry
Synonyms: Offend, Hurt
Antonyms: Please, Praise
Example: They were aggrieved by the continued chiefly control over land.
