Vocabulary is an important part of English that helps you deal with all kinds of questions in objective as well as descriptive papers of various exams. In the recently concluded Banking Exams, we witnessed that a major part of the exam was based on vocabulary. Many questions were vocab based and we can expect the same in the upcoming exams. 1. INCITE – उत्तेजित
Meaning:to encourage someone to do or feel something unpleasant or violent
Synonyms: abet, agitate
Antonyms: dampen, dissuade
Example:She was expelled for inciting her classmates to rebel against their teachers.

2. SPECULATE – कल्पना करना
Meaning:to guess possible answers to a question when you do not have enough information to be certain
Synonyms: contemplate, figure out
Antonyms: abstain, forget
Example:Journalists are speculating about whether interest rates will be cut.

3. FRINGE – सीमांत
Meaning:the outer or less important part of an area, group, or activity
Synonyms: edge, hem
Antonyms: middle, inside
Example:He attended several of the fringe meetings at the conference.

4. HAZARDOUS – खतरनाक
Meaning:dangerous and involving risk, especially to someone’s health
Synonyms: dangerous, disasterous
Antonyms: favourable, healthy
Example:The overwhelming majority of studies reported significantly better results with active intervention against hazardous alcohol consumption.

5. ACCELERATE – त्वरित करना
Meaning:to happen or make something happen sooner or faster
Synonyms: advance, expedite
Antonyms: bloack, cease
Example:Inflation is likely to accelerate this year, adding further upward pressure on interest rates.

6. ENVISAGE – परिकल्पना करना
Meaning: to imagine or expect something in the future, especially something good
Synonyms: confront, consider
Antonyms: disregard, ignore
Example: It’s envisaged that building will start at the end of this year.

7. WANTON – प्रचंड
Meaning: (of something bad, such as damage, cruelty, waste) extreme and showing no care at all
Synonyms: lewd, outrageous
Antonyms: decent, good
Example:He displayed a wanton disregard for the facts.

8. RAMBUNCTIOUS – झगड़ालू
Meaning: full of energy and difficult to control
Synonyms: boisterous, noisy
Antonyms: calm, quiet
Example: Driving a long distance with four rambunctious children is not exactly fun.

9. PIQUE – मनमुटाव
Meaning:a feeling of anger, especially caused by someone damaging your feeling of being proud of yourself
Synonyms: annoyance, displeasure
Antonyms: delight, happiness
Example:He stormed from the room in a fit of pique, shouting that he had been misunderstood.

10. OXYMORON – विरोधाभास
Meaning:two words used together that have, or seem to have, opposite meanings
Synonyms: adumbration, allegory
Antonyms: truth, honesty
Example:The term ‘constitutional democracy’ can be interpreted as either an oxymoron or a tautology.
