Maharashtra government announces weekend lockdown in the state: Current Affairs Special Series

 Maharashtra government announces weekend lockdown in the state

In the wake of rising covid-19 cases, the Maharashtra government has announced stricter curbs in the state from today i.e. 5 April 2021 to break the chain of covid-19 virus infections.

From today i.e.5 April 2021 night curfew is imposed in the whole state from 8 PM to 7 AM. Section 144 has also been imposed in day time and 5 or more than 5 people are not allowed to gather. No one is allowed in public places without valid reasons on the weekend. All offices will have to adopt work from home, while government departments, banking and financial sectors will continue to operate at 50 percent staff capacity. While the health department staff will continue to work at full capacity, visitors at all government offices are also restricted. All these curbs will be remained stay in place till 30th April. All amusement parks, saloons, parlors, gyms, indoor game facilities and religious places will have to be closed. While all political, cultural and social gatherings would be banned. Cinema halls and theatres will also remain shut. Gardens and open spaces for public usage will remain open from 7 AM to 8 PM and people will only be allowed if they follow the regulations and appropriate behavior in view of Covid.

Marriage functions will not be allowed to have 50 guests while only 20 people will be allowed to attend funerals. Film and television shootings could be continued with production houses ensuring vaccination and COVID appropriate behavior in respect of their staff.
