Quantitative Aptitude Questions for IBPS Exam

Today we have been including Simplification, Number Series and Quadratic Equations. This is the Quantitative Aptitude Questions and you should try to do it within 14-15 Minutes. If you fail to complete it in the stipulated time, then try again with full force. These quantitative aptitude questions are very important from exam point of view like IBPS RRB Exam, IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk.

Directions (Q.1-5): What should come in place of question mark (?) in following questions?
Solutions (1-5):

Directions (Q6-10): In following number series problems find the wrong number that does not follow the specific pattern followed by other numbers in that series?

Q6.  2,     6,     12,     27,     58,     121,     248
(a) 6
(b) 2
(c) 12
(d) 121
(e) None of these

S6. Ans.(a)
Sol.
From the series it is clear that the pattern is ×2+1, ×2+2, ×2+3, ×2+4, ×2+5, ×2+6
∴ Wrong term = 6

Q7.  190,     166,     145,     128,     112,     100,     91
(a) 190
(b) 128
(c) 100
(d) 91
(e) None of these

S7. Ans.(b)
Sol.
The correct pattern is
(190 – 24) = 166
(166 – 21) = 145
(145 – 18) = 127
(127 – 15) = 112…..
So, wrong term is 128

Q8.  895,     870,     821,     740,     619,     445,     225
(a) 445
(b) 740
(c) 225
(d) 619
(e) None of these

S8. Ans.(a)
Sol.
The correct series is
895 – 25 = 870;
870 – 49 = 821;
821 – 81 = 740;
740 – 121 = 619;
619 – 169 = 450; and so on
So, the wrong term is 445.

Q9. 1,     2,     6,     21,     86,     445,     2676
(a) 21
(b) 445
(c) 86
(d) 2676
(e) None of these

S9. Ans.(c)
Sol.
The pattern in the given question is
1 × 1 + 1 = 2;
2 × 2 + 2 = 6;
6 × 3 + 3 = 21;
21 × 4 + 4 = 88;
88 × 5 + 5 = 445; and so on
So, the wrong term is 86.

Q10. 7,     10,     12,     14,     17,     19,     22,     22
(a) 10
(b) 17
(c) 19
(d) 22
(e) None of these

S10. Ans.(c)
Sol.
There are two series;
S_1=7,12,17,22
S_2=10,14,18,22
∴ Wrong term is 19.

Directions (11-15): In the following two equations numbered I and II are given. You have to solve both the equations and
Give answer (a) If x>y
Give answer (b) If x≥y
Give answer (c) If x<y
Give answer (d) Ifx≤y
