SBI PO 2019 Notification

The State Bank of India is expected to release the official notification regarding the vacancies of Probationary Officers in the month of April this year. We will update the link to the official notification as soon as it is updated on the official website of the State Bank of India. SBI PO 2019 Apply Online

The link to apply online for SBI PO 2019 Exam will be activated as soon as the official notification is out. The registrations and mode of payment for SBI PO 2019 Application will be both online. The online registration for SBI PO 2019 is expected to start in the month of April this year. 

SBI PO 2019 Application Fees

1. Rs. 100 for SC/ ST/ PWD Candidates.
2. Rs. 600 for all others.

SBI PO 2019 Vacancies

The vacancies for the post of SBI PO 2019 will be revealed in the official notification by the State Bank of India. The total number of vacancies, as the SBI PO Notification 2018 says, was 2000. Also, the number of vacancies announced in the year 2017 and 2016 was 2400 and 2200 respectively.

SBI PO 2019 Exam Dates

SBI PO 2019 prelims and main exam dates will be announced when the official notification for SBI PO 2019 is released. As per the exam dates of SBI PO 2018 exams, the exam dates are expected to fall in July and August for Prelims and Main Exam respectively. SBI PO 2019 Exam Pattern

The examination for SBI PO recruitment process is carried out in three phases i.e. Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Group Discussion and Personal Interview. As SBI's propensity to change the face of exam pattern is very well known, we may get to see a revised pattern for SBI PO 2019 Exam. Following is the expected pattern of SBI PO 2019 Exam if there is no change in the pattern this year and it remains the same as last year's:

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination
Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks is conducted online. This test is of 1-hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

Candidates have to qualify the test by securing passing marks to be decided by the Bank. there will be no sectional cutoff. An adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 10 times the numbers of vacancies subject to availability) are shortlisted for the Main Examination.

Phase – IIMain Examination
Main Examination consists of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests is online. Candidates have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of the Objective Test, Descriptive Test is administered.

1. Objective Test: The objective test of 3 hours duration consists of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test has separate timing for every section. The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

2. Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 50 marks is a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank. Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in the objective test.

A Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main examination): There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

Phase – IIIGroup Exercises (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)
The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective Tests and Descriptive Test are arranged in descending order in each category. The adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by the Bank are called for Group Exercises and Interview. The qualifying marks in Group Exercises &Interview are decided by the Bank.

SBI PO 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The Eligibility Criteria for the SBI PO 2019 Recruitment Process is expected to remain the same as 2018's. Here is the detailed description for the eligibility criteria to apply for SBI PO 2018:

1. Essential Academic Qualifications: (As on 31.08.2018)
Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final year/Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for the interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31.08.2018. Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31.08.2018. Candidates possessing the qualification of Chartered Accountant may also apply.

2. Age Limit: (As on 01.04.2018)
Not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.04.2018 i.e candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.04.1988 and not later than 01.04.1997 (both days inclusive).

SBI PO 2019 Selection Procedure

Conventionally, SBI conducts the examination in three phases in order to carry out the complete recruitment process. The three steps that SBI follows for the recruitment are as follows:

1. Online Preliminary Examination (Objective Test).
2. Online Mains Examination (Objective Test and Descriptive Test).
3. Group Exercises and Personal Interview.

The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) are not added for the selection and only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in Objective Test and Descriptive Test, are added to the marks obtained in GE& Interview (Phase-III) for preparation of the final merit list. 

The candidates have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. Marks secured by the candidates in the Written Test (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Exercises & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating the converted marks of Written Test and Group Exercises &Interview out of 100 for each category. The selection is made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.

Results of the candidates who have qualified for Group Exercises & Interview and the list of candidates finally selected is made available on the Bank's website. The final selection list is published in Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar and also on Bank’s website.

SBI PO 2019 Salary

The basic salary of SBI PO, as mentioned in SBI PO 2018 Official Notification is Rs. 23700. Also, the SBI Probationary Officer gets 4 advanced increments of ₹ 980 which are added to his basic salary which finally amounts to ₹ 27620. Apart from the basic salary, an SBI PO also receives Dearness Allowance, City Compensation Allowance (CCA) and Special Allowance which, when added to the basic salary, amount to approximately ₹ 43307.

SBI PO 2019 Admit Card/ Call Letter

The admit cards for the Prelims Exam, Main Exam and Group Discussion and Personal Interview will be released 10-15 days before they are held. We will update the links to download them as soon as they are made available on the official website of the State Bank of India.

SBI PO 2019 Final Result

The State Bank of India releases the results for different phases of examinations separately. The results are usually declared within a month after the examinations are conducted. We will provide the links to them as soon as they are available on the official website.


SBI PO 2019 Cut Off Scores

The cut-off scores released by SBI depend on the number of vacancies announced in that particular year, the number of candidates appeared for the examination and the difficulty level of the examination. So, one cannot envisage the cut-off scores of SBI PO 2019 Exam by simply relying on the ones of previous years.
