POWERGRID Officer Trainee Vacancies 2025

POWERGRID has announced a total of 20 vacancies for the post of Officer Trainee. Out of these, 19 vacancies are for Officer Trainee (Finance) and 1 vacancy is for Officer Trainee (Company Secretary). Here is the category-wise vacancy for both posts:

Eligibility Criteria for POWERGRID Officer Trainee 2025

To be eligible for the Officer Trainee posts, candidates must meet the educational qualifications and age criteria as prescribed by POWERGRID.

• For Officer Trainee (Finance): Candidates must have passed CA / ICWA (CMA).
• For Officer Trainee (Company Secretary): Candidates must be an Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).
• Upper Age Limit: The maximum age limit for both posts is 28 years as on 5th November 2025. Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government of India guidelines for reserved categories.

POWERGRID Officer Trainee 2025 Recruitment Application Fees

Candidates belonging to the General, OBC (NCL), and EWS categories are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹500/-. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD categories are exempted from paying the fee. The payment can be made only through online mode.

Selection Process for POWERGRID Officer Trainee 2025

The selection process for POWERGRID Officer Trainee Recruitment 2025 involves multiple stages to ensure the selection of the most suitable candidates. The process comprises:

• Computer-Based Test (CBT)
• Document Verification,
• Group Discussion (GD),
• Behavioral Assessment, and
• Personal Interview.

Note: Only those candidates who qualify in the written test will be shortlisted for the subsequent stages in the prescribed category-wise ratio.

POWERGRID Officer Trainee Exam Pattern 2025

The CBT will be of 2 hours duration and will include objective-type questions with four answer choices for each question. It will consist of two sections:

• Professional Knowledge Test (PKT): 120 Questions based on discipline-specific subjects.
• Executive Aptitude Test (EAT): 50 Questions on vocabulary, verbal comprehension, reasoning, quantitative aptitude, data interpretation, and general awareness.

Note: Each question carries one mark, and there will be a negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer or multiple responses.

Weightage for Final Selection

For preparing the final merit list, the following weightages will be applied:

• Written Test / CBT: 85%
• Group Discussion: 3%
• Personal Interview: 12%

Note: Candidates will have the option to attend the Group Discussion and Interview in either Hindi or English.

Salary for POWERGRID Officer Trainee

POWERGRID offers one of the most attractive compensation packages among public sector undertakings. During the training period, candidates will receive a Basic Pay of ₹40,000/- along with Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and perks at 12% of the basic pay.

Upon successful completion of the training, candidates will be designated as Officers at E-2 Level in the Executive Cadre with a pay scale of ₹50,000 – 3% – ₹1,60,000 (IDA).

The Cost to Company (CTC) during training is approximately ₹11.00 lakhs per annum, which increases to around ₹22.50 lakhs per annum after regularization.
