RBI Grade A & B Eligibility Criteria

Detailed eligibility requirements vary by position (as of 1 February 2026):

1. Legal Officer (Grade ‘B’)

• Age: 21 to 32 years (relaxable for LL.M. and Ph.D. holders).
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Law with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).
• Experience: Minimum 2 years as an Advocate, Law Officer, or Law teacher.

2. Manager (Technical-Civil) (Grade ‘B’)

• Age: 21 to 35 years.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).
• Experience: At least 3 years in a relevant field after graduation.

3. Manager (Technical-Electrical) (Grade ‘B’)

• Age: 21 to 35 years.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electrical and Electronics Engineering with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).
• Experience: At least 3 years in a relevant field after graduation.

4. Assistant Manager (Rajbhasha) (Grade ‘A’)

• Age: 21 to 30 years (32 years for Ph.D. holders).
• Education: Second Class Master’s Degree in Hindi/Hindi Translation with English as a subject, or vice versa with a PG diploma in translation.

Pay Scale & Additional Benefits of RBI Grade A & B 2026

For Grade ‘B’ Officers (Legal, Technical-Civil, and Technical-Electrical):

• Starting Basic Pay: ₹78,450/- per month
• Pay Scale: ₹78450 – 4050 (9) – 114900 – EB – 4050 (2) – 123000 – 4650 (4) – 141600 (16 years).
• Total Monthly Emoluments: The initial monthly gross emoluments (excluding HRA) are approximately ₹1,53,675/-.
• House Rent Allowance (HRA): If Bank’s accommodation is not provided, an additional 15% of pay is paid as HRA.

For Grade ‘A’ Officers (Rajbhasha and Protocol & Security):

• Starting Basic Pay: ₹62,500/- per month
• Pay Scale: ₹62500 – 3600 (4) – 76900 – 4050 (7) – 105250 – EB – 4050 (4) – 121450 – 4650 (1) – 126100 (17 years).
• Total Monthly Emoluments: The initial monthly gross emoluments (excluding HRA) are approximately ₹1,26,540/-.
• House Rent Allowance (HRA): If Bank’s accommodation is not provided, an additional 15% of pay is paid as HRA.
• Special Note: Pay Protection (as per Government of India instructions) is available for candidates selected for the post of Assistant Manager (Protocol & Security).
