RBI Grade B Notification 2025 Out
The RBI Grade B Recruitment 2025 offers a golden opportunity for aspirants to work with India’s central bank, gaining exposure to policy-making, financial regulation, and economic research. The recruitment process will be concluded in three stages, viz. Phase I, Phase II and Phase III. The Phase I exam will be held on 18 -19 October 2025. RBI Grade B Notification 2025 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility for RBI Grade B 2025 is expected to be as follows. However, candidates should note that the exact details will be confirmed once the detailed notification is released.
1. Nationality
- Indian citizens, or
- Subjects of Nepal/Bhutan, or
- Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1 January 1962, or
- Persons of Indian origin who migrated from approved countries with the intention of permanent settlement in India.
2. Age Limit (as on 1 September 2025)
- 21 to 30 years
- Relaxations apply for reserved categories, higher qualifications, and candidates with relevant experience.
3. Educational Qualification
- General Stream: Graduation with 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD) OR Post-Graduation with 55% marks.
- DEPR Stream: Master’s in Economics/Finance with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD). Preference for PhD holders/research experience.
- DSIM Stream: Master’s in Statistics/Mathematics/Data Science/AI/ML/Big Data Analytics with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD) OR a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in these fields with 60% marks.
RBI Grade B Recruitment Selection Process
The selection process for RBI Grade B 2025 is carried out in multiple stages to ensure only the best candidates are shortlisted. It consists of the following phases:
Phase-I (Preliminary Exam):
- Objective-type online test.
- Tests candidates’ aptitude in subjects like Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English, and General Awareness.
- Qualifying in nature.
Phase-II (Mains Exam):
- Includes objective as well as descriptive papers depending on the stream (General/DEPR/DSIM).
- Carries more weight in the final selection.
Interview:
- Candidates who clear Phase-II are called for the personal interview round.
- Assesses subject knowledge, communication skills, and suitability for the role.

The RBI Grade B exam pattern varies depending on the post applied for – General (DR), DEPR, or DSIM. Each post has a two-phase selection process followed by an interview, but the subjects and exam structure differ. Understanding the pattern is essential for effective preparation.
RBI Grade B (DR): General
- Phase I (Objective): 200 marks, 120 minutes – General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning.
- Phase II: Three papers – Economic & Social Issues (Objective), English (Descriptive), Finance & Management (Objective), each 100 marks.
- Interview: 75 marks.
RBI Grade B (DR): DEPR
- Phase I: Paper I (Economics) – Objective, 100 marks; Paper II (Economics) – Descriptive, 100 marks.
- Phase II: Paper III (Economics) – Descriptive, 100 marks.
- Interview: 75 marks.

- Phase I: Paper I (Statistics) – Objective, 100 marks.

RBI Grade B Notification 2025 Salary
Selected candidates will start with a basic pay of ₹55,200/- per month in the pay scale of ₹55,200-99,750 over 16 years, along with allowances such as Special Allowance, Grade Allowance, Dearness Allowance, HRA (if accommodation is not provided), and other perks. The initial gross monthly emoluments without HRA are approximately ₹1,22,717/-, making it one of the most attractive pay packages in the banking sector.
RBI Grade B Recruitment 2025 Number of Attempts
General/EWS category candidates can attempt the Phase-I exam for this post only six times. There is no attempt restriction for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates for reserved posts.
