RRB ALP Exam Date 2024, Check CBT 1 Exam Schedule

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) oversees the selection of Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP) through a series of stages: CBT 1, CBT 2, CBAT (Computer-Based Aptitude Test), and Document Verification. Recently, they announced tentative dates for these stages. According to the notice, CBT 1 for RRB ALP is expected to occur between July and August 2024, while CBT 2 is scheduled for September 2024. What is the RRB ALP Exam Date?

The CBT 1 exam is scheduled between July and August 2024, the exact dates will be announced soon, followed by the CBT 2 exam in September 2024. The Computer-Based Aptitude Test(CBAT) is to be conducted in November 2024. Candidates shortlisted after the document verification will be published in November/December 2024.

RRB ALP Exam Pattern 2024: CBT I

The first stage of the RRB ALP 2024 Exam, is applicable for both Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and Technician positions, is a qualifying round. This means that the scores from this stage will not be counted towards the final merit list.

  • Exam Structure: The CBT-I consists of 75 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  • Duration: Candidates have 60 minutes to complete the exam.
  • Scoring: Each question carries one mark, making the total score for the exam 75 marks.
  • Negative Marking: Incorrect answers will result in a penalty of ⅓ mark per wrong answer.

RRB ALP Exam Pattern 2024: CBT II

Candidates who achieve the required cutoff in CBT-I will progress to the second stage, CBT-II. This stage is divided into two parts: Part A and Part B.

  • Part A:
    • Questions: It consists of 100 MCQs.
    • Duration: Candidates have 90 minutes to complete this part.
    • Subjects Covered: The questions cover Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering, and General Awareness of Current Affairs.
    • Negative Marking: A penalty of ⅓ mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.
    • Purpose: The scores from Part A are used to shortlist candidates for further selection rounds.
  • Part B:
    • Questions: It consists of 75 MCQs.
    • Duration: Candidates have 60 minutes to complete this part.
    • Negative Marking: A penalty of ⅓ mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.
    • Purpose: Part B is purely qualifying and does not affect the overall merit ranking.

RRB ALP Exam Pattern 2024: CBAT

The Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) is specifically for candidates applying for the Assistant Loco Pilot positions.

  • Language: The question papers are available in both English and Hindi.
  • Weightage: The ratio for the final selection is 70:30. In the final merit list 70% of marks will be considered of CBT II Part A and 30% marks of CBAT.
