Success Story of Archit Verma Selected as IBPS PO

Hello aspirants,

IBPS has successfully announced its final result of IBPS PO and many congratulations to the candidates who have been selected and keep sending their success stories to us so that we can share them with our students. Here we are sharing with you the success story of Archit Verma.

Hello everyone, My name is Archit Verma and I am from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. I did my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications from National PG College Lucknow. I started my preparations in 2019 right after the completion of my graduation.  The first exam I gave was SBI Clerk 2019 in which I failed prelims by 7 marks. The second exam was IBPS RRB PO VIII in which I could score only 28/80 marks. This was embarrassing and I decided to get serious about my preparation and attempted my next IBPS PO IX exam. This is when I achieved my first success. I cleared prelims by a margin of 20 marks. I scored 78/100 marks in prelims. Now I started preparing for mains and gave my heart and soul to it. Finally, the mains result was declared on 2nd January 2020 and I cleared it. Everyone was delighted. But my interview went horribly, and I missed the final merit by 0.69 marks. Now amid the COVID pandemic, this was devastating as there were no exams happening soon. But SSC CGL prelims result gave me a tiny bit of comfort as I cleared it with a good margin.

When the IBPS RRB PO notification came out, I knew this was my chance to score. I filled the form and then started preparing for it. Soon enough IBPS PO notification came out. I gave both these exams very well and was quite sure about clearing the prelims and I waited for the result. But IBPS had other plans, they reopened the application for window and delayed the result. This was frustrating. However, I pulled myself together and started preparing for my SSC CGL Tier 2 and Tier 3 which were to be held on 15th November and 22 November respectively. I gave both these exams properly and then started preparing for my SBI PO prelims whose notification was also released. I gave my SBI Prelims well and now I was sure about clearing all the three prelims examinations of Banking PO’s.

Finally, the results started coming, and exactly as I had expected, I cleared all three prelims. I started giving final touches to my mains preparations. SBI PO was really the test of the aspirant’s character, with unexpected General Awareness questions, everything now depended on the other sections. However, I kept my cool and attempted 67 questions, and answered the descriptive portion well. The very next day I went for IBPS RRB PO mains. Once again GK was tricky and  I had to ace in every other portion. With only 13 attempts in GK, I attempted 145 questions overall.

Now there was a few days gap for the IBPS PO mains, I focussed only on the GA part during that time and attempted a few mocks. In the exam, I found GK to be easy and attempted 22 questions easily. Overall I attempted 90 questions and descriptive as well.

Now it was time to wait for the results of all the main examinations, and then the results came. I cleared all the three banking mains and also the SSC CGL tier 2. This was an exciting and happy moment for my entire family.

Now I gave all my interviews IBPS RRB PO on 22nd Feb, SBI PO on 2nd March, and IBPS PO on 8th march. I also gave IB ACIO tier 1 on 19th Feb, RBI Grade B Phase 1 on 6th March.

The result for IBPS RRB PO came out and I got allotted in Aryavart Bank, I scored 124/200 in mains and 61.25/100 in the final merit list.  Few days later I got selected in RBI Grade B Phase 1.

But I failed in SBI PO my 0.4 marks and this broke me as I scored well in mains (99/250) but got fewer marks in the interview.

Now it was time to wait for the IBPS PO scorecard. I scored 117/225 in IBPS PO mains

On 1st April I got selected in IBPS PO and got allotted to Canara Bank. I also got selected in IB ACIO Tier 1 on the same day.

The overall message is Keep Trying! Apna Time Aayega!
