Synonyms: absurdity, ambiguity, anomaly, enigma, inconsistency, mystery, oddity, catch, error.
Antonyms: normality, regularity, standard, usualness, accuracy, certainty, correction, same, success.
3. Substantial [səbˈstæn ʃəl]
Adjective: of ample or considerable amount, quantity, size, etc.; of a corporeal or material nature; tangible; real; basic or essential; fundamental; wealthy or influential; of real worth, value, or effect.
Synonyms: big, consequential, considerable, extraordinary, generous, hefty, large, massive, meaningful, serious, significant, sizable.
Antonyms: broken, inconsiderable, insignificant, intermittent, little, meaningless, miniature, minor, selfish.
4. Persistence [pərˈsɪs təns, -ˈzɪs-]
Noun: the act or fact of persisting; the quality of being persistent; continued existence or occurrence; the continuance of an effect after its cause is removed.
Synonyms: endurance, grit, perseverance, stamina, tenacity, constancy, doggedness.
Antonyms: apathy, laziness, lethargy, weakness, idleness, indifference, indolence.
Example: “Where are the others?” he asked as his friend came down the path with two sticks and a coloured brolly in his bag.
5. Brolly [ˈbrɒl i]
Noun: an umbrella.
Synonyms: shade, guard, parasol, screen, shelter, sunshade, protect.
Example: It functioned for years without regard for guidelines, norms or transparency, until the apex court halted its irregular run.
6. Apex [ˈeɪ pɛks]
Noun: the highest point; vertex; the pointed end or tip of something; a pinnacle or high point, as of a career, etc.
Synonyms: apogee, culmination, pinnacle, acme, climax, crest, crown, cusp, height, max, maximum.
7. Halt [hɔlt] 
Verb (used without object): to stop; cease moving, operating, etc., either permanently or temporarily.
Verb (used with object): to cause to stop temporarily or permanently; bring to a stop.
Synonyms: cutoff, freeze, interruption, layoff, letup, pause, standstill, termination.
Antonyms: continuation, beginning, start, endurance, go, perseverance.

Example: The verdict is a studied indictment of government processes, or the lack of processes, during the period.
8. Verdict [ˈvɜr dɪkt]
Noun (Law): the finding or answer of a jury given to the court concerning a matter submitted to their judgment; a judgment; decision.
Synonyms: answer, award, conclusion, decision, decree, finding, opinion, ruling, sentence.
Antonym: accusation.
9. Indictment [ɪnˈdaɪt mənt] 
Noun: an act of indicting; Law. a formal accusation initiating a criminal case, presented by a grand jury and usually required for felonies and other serious crimes.
Synonyms: allegation, arraignment, bill, charge, citation, detention, impeachment, prosecution, statement, summons.
Example: The screening committee recommended allocations to the Minister.
10. Allocation [ˌæl əˈkeɪ ʃən]
Noun: the act of allocating; apportionment; the state of being allocated; the share or portion allocated; Accounting. a system of dividing expenses and incomes among the various branches, departments, etc., of a business.
Synonyms: allocation, allotment, appropriation, quota, share, apportionment, portion, ration.
Antonym: whole.
