UIIC AO Age Limit 2026
The UIIC AO age limit 2026 is 21 to 30 years as on 30 June 2026. This means a candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained 30 years of age as on the cut-off date. The notification specifies the corresponding date-of-birth range as: Born between 30 June 1996 and 30 June 2005 (both dates inclusive). Candidates falling within this date-of-birth range can be considered for the post, subject to fulfilment of the other eligibility conditions.

UIIC AO Educational Qualification 2026
The educational qualification differs for Generalist and Hindi Officer candidates.
UIIC AO Generalist Qualification 2026
For the Generalist post, candidates must possess a Graduate Degree or Postgraduate Degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government. The notification allows candidates from a wide range of academic backgrounds to apply, including disciplines such as:

The educational qualification for the Hindi Officer post is different from that of Generalists. Candidates applying for Hindi Officer must possess the prescribed Master’s degree qualification involving Hindi and English as specified in the notification. The prescribed minimum percentage is:
- 60% for candidates in the applicable unreserved category
- 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates
Qualification Must Be Completed by 30 June 2026
One of the most important eligibility conditions is the qualification cut-off date. The candidate must have completed the required educational qualification by 30 June 2026. Candidates whose final examination was still pending as on 30 June 2026 and whose result was declared after this date will not be considered eligible. Therefore, merely appearing in the final-year examination is not sufficient. The prescribed qualification must have been completed within the specified time.
Is Computer Knowledge Required for UIIC AO 2026?
Yes. Working knowledge of computers is mandatory for candidates applying for UIIC AO 2026. Candidates should therefore possess the required computer knowledge before appointment, in accordance with the conditions specified by UIIC. Computer Knowledge is also included as a separate section in the Generalist Main Examination.
Is Experience Required for UIIC AO 2026?
- No specific prior work experience is prescribed as a mandatory eligibility requirement in the UIIC AO 2026 notification.
- Candidates who meet the prescribed educational qualification, age limit and other eligibility conditions can apply without having prior work experience, subject to the applicable discipline requirements.
- Therefore, fresh graduates who fulfil the required qualification and percentage criteria can apply for the Generalist post.
- Candidates should not confuse the experience requirement with the qualification requirement. The notification does not prescribe a minimum number of years of prior work experience for the Administrative Officer (Scale I) posts covered under this recruitment.
Nationality for UIIC AO 2026
A candidate must fulfil the nationality conditions prescribed in the notification. Eligible candidates include:
- A citizen of India
- A subject of Nepal
- A subject of Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India, subject to the prescribed conditions
Can Final-Year Students Apply for UIIC AO 2026?
Candidates whose final examination or result was pending after the prescribed cut-off date should not consider themselves eligible. The notification requires candidates to have completed the prescribed qualification by 30 June 2026. Therefore, candidates whose qualifying degree result was declared after 30 June 2026 are not eligible under the 2026 recruitment.
Can a Candidate Apply for Both Generalist and Hindi Officer?
No.
A candidate can apply for only one discipline:
- Generalist, or
- Hindi Officer
Candidates must choose the discipline for which they satisfy the educational eligibility criteria. Multiple registrations or attempting the examination for both disciplines can result in cancellation of candidature as per the notification.
