  • The board of One97 Communications Ltd, the listed entity that runs Paytm, approved a share buyback program worth 850 crores via an open market route through the stock exchanges method.
  • IHDFC Bank has acquired a 7.75% stake in fintech start-up Mintoak Innovations (Mintoak) for a total cash consideration of Rs 31.14 crore.
  • Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the country’s largest insurer, has increased its stake in Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) Ltd to over 5% 
  • Rajeev Kumar Vishnoi has assumed the additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).
  • The Centre has nominated Manoj Govil, Secretary of, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), to the Board of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
  • NASA astronauts Josh Cassada and Frank Rubio have successfully installed Roll-Out Solar Array (ROSA) on the starboard truss structure of the International Space Station (ISS).

  • Social Progress Index (SPI) for States and Districts made by the Institute for Competitiveness and Social Progress Imperative was submitted to Economic Advisory Council- Prime Minister
  • Puducherry has the highest SPI score of 65.99 in the country, attributable to its remarkable performance across components like Personal Freedom and Choice, Shelter, and Water and Sanitation.
  • The index assesses states and districts based on 12 components across three critical dimensions of social progress – Basic Human Needs, Foundations of Wellbeing, and Opportunity.
  • Sonakshi Sinha,named PETA India’s Person of the Year for 2022.

  • Millets can grow in poor soil conditions with less water, fertiliser and pesticides. They can withstand higher temperatures, making them the perfect choice as ‘climate-smart cereals.
