9th January – Non-Resident Indian Day or Pravasi Bhartiya Divas 2022

The Non-Resident Indian Day or also known as the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas is celebrated every year on 9th January 2022 by the Republic of India. The day is marked to showcase the contribution of the overseas Indian Community to the development of the country. As already mentioned above, that the non resident day Or Bhartiya Pravasi Diwas is celebrated to mark the contribution of the overseas community for the development of the country. On this day, government also conferred the Pravasi Bhartiya Samman Award. It is the highest honor award given to the non residents of India and the non residents of India organization for their immense efforts in the development of the country.

The non resident Indian day Or Bhartiya Pravasi Divas was firstly celebrated and marked on 9th January 2003. On the same day in 1915, Mahatma Gandhi has returned to the nation from the South Africa, and this the day was selected to be marked as the Bhartiya Pravasi divas.
