  5. Attempt Full-Length Mocks : Full-length SBI PO Mains mock tests can help candidates understand the difficulty level, improve time management and identify weak areas. After every mock, spend sufficient time analysing incorrect and skipped questions.

What After SBI PO Mains Exam 2026?

Factors Affecting SBI PO Prelims Result 2026

The SBI PO Prelims Result 2026 and the Phase 1 cut-off depend on several factors. The cut-off is not fixed and may change every year based on the exam difficulty, competition, and other exam-related conditions.

  • Total Number of Vacancies: The number of vacancies plays an important role in determining the cut-off. For 2026, 1,500 vacancies have been announced, which affects the number of candidates shortlisted for the next stage.
  • Difficulty Level of the Exam: If the SBI PO Prelims exam is difficult, the average score may be lower, which can result in a lower cut-off. Difficult reasoning puzzles, quantitative aptitude questions, or data interpretation sets can affect overall scores.
  • Number of Candidates Appearing: A higher number of candidates means more competition for the available vacancies. This can increase the competition and may lead to a higher cut-off.
  • Normalization Process: SBI PO Prelims may be conducted in multiple shifts. Since the difficulty level can vary between shifts, scores are normalized to ensure fair comparison among candidates. The normalization process can affect the final marks considered for the cut-off.

Therefore, candidates should consider these factors while estimating the SBI PO Prelims Result 2026 cut-off and their chances of qualifying for the next stage.

What After SBI PO Prelims Result 2026?

Candidates who have qualified in the SBI PO Prelims Result 2026 will now move to the next stage of the recruitment process, i.e. the SBI PO Mains Examination. • Practise Mains-level mock tests and descriptive writing.

  • Prepare for the Psychometric Test, Group Exercise and Interview after qualifying Mains.

How to Use the IBPS SO Memory Based Paper 2026?

Candidates should not simply solve the recalled questions and move on. Instead, the paper can be used as an effective analysis tool.

1. Attempt the Paper Like a Mock Test : Try solving the memory-based paper without checking the answers first. Maintain the same time pressure that you would experience in an actual examination.

2. Analyse Your Mistakes :  After completing the paper, divide your mistakes into three categories:

  • Conceptual mistakes
  • Calculation or silly mistakes
  • Time-management mistakes

3. Revise Repeated Topics : If a particular topic appears repeatedly in the memory-based questions, add it to your revision priority list. Focus on understanding the concept rather than memorising one particular question.

4. Focus on Professional Knowledge : IBPS SO is different from general banking examinations because Professional Knowledge plays a major role in the selection process. Candidates should therefore continue revising their post-specific subjects alongside general sections.

IBPS SO Mains Preparation After Prelims

Candidates should not wait for the prelims result before starting Mains preparation. The IBPS SO selection process involves multiple stages, and candidates who qualify in the preliminary examination are shortlisted for the Online Main Examination. The Mains examination is primarily focused on Professional Knowledge, making subject-specific preparation extremely important. For example, candidates appearing for different posts should focus on:

  • IT Officer: Database Management, Networking, Operating Systems, Data Structures and related IT concepts
  • Agriculture Field Officer: Agronomy, Soil Science, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Schemes and related topics
  • Marketing Officer: Marketing Management, Branding, Advertising, Market Segmentation, Sales and related concepts
  • HR/Personnel Officer: Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Recruitment, Training and related concepts
  • Law Officer: Banking Law, Financial Laws, Legal concepts and relevant regulations
  • Rajbhasha Adhikari: Hindi language and professional knowledge-related topics

Why Is the IBPS SO Memory Based Paper Important?

The memory-based paper provides candidates with a practical view of the examination. While the official syllabus tells candidates what to study, the memory-based paper can help them understand how questions are actually framed. It can also be useful for candidates preparing for future shifts, as it provides an indication of the topics being tested during the examination cycle.
