Vocabulary is an important part of English that helps you deal with all kinds of questions in objective as well as descriptive papers of various exams. In the recently concluded Banking Exams, we witnessed that a major part of the exam was based on vocabulary. Many questions were vocab based and we can expect the same in the upcoming exams. 1. DEMEANOR : आचरण
Meaning: a way of looking and behaving
Synonyms: attitude, poise
Antonyms: imbalance, excitedness
Example: It was obvious from the man’s anxious demeanor that he was nervous about being on the witness stand.


2. BANEFUL : अभिशप्त
Meaning: causing harm or trouble
Synonyms: baleful, deadly
Antonyms: helpful, fortunate
Example: He sought to remove his children from the baneful influences of the city.

3. CULMINATE : समापन
Meaning: If an event or series of events culminates in something, it ends with it, having developed until it reaches this point
Synonyms: climate, conclude
Antonyms: start, commence
Example: My arguments with the boss got worse and worse, and finally culminated in my resignation.


4. REVELRY : मद्यपान का उत्सव
Meaning: a situation in which people are drinking, dancing, singing, etc. at a party or in public, especially in a noisy way

5. MURKY : धुंधला
Meaning: dark and dirty or difficult to see through

8. EULOGIZE : प्रशंसा करना
Meaning: to praise someone or something in a speech or piece of writing
Synonyms: applaud, commend
Antonyms: blame, criticize
Example: Critics everywhere have eulogized her new novel.


9. MERRIMENT : आनंद
Meaning: an occasion when people laugh or have an enjoyable time together
Synonyms: brawl, enjoyment
Antonyms: gloom, misery
Example: His unusual name has long been a source of merriment among his friends.


10. GLOOMY : विषादपूर्ण
Meaning: not expecting or believing anything good in a situation
Synonyms: bleak, dismal
Antonyms: bright, cheerful
Example: The vet is rather gloomy about my cat’s chances of recovery.
