    EPFO Assistant 2019 Exam pattern:


    The exam is a two-tier process. Those who will qualify the first phase will only appear for the second round i.e Main exam.  One has to qualify both the phases by scoring minimum marks as set by the organization.  Preliminary exam is qualifying in nature whereas the main exam will be considered for the final selection. Following is the detailed exam pattern of the EPFO Assistant 2019 exam.

    Preliminary exam: Phase-1

    Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks is conducted online. This test is of 1-hour duration consisting of 3 Sections(with separate timings for each section) as follows:

    Candidates have to qualify in the preliminary exam to be eligible for the second phase by securing the minimum qualifying marks which will be decided by the organization itself. Candidates will be selected in the ratio 1:10 that is 10 times the vacancy for the main exam. Cut off will be decided on certain factors like level of difficulty, vacancies, number of aspirants applied, etc.

    Phase-II Main examination:

    After qualifying the preliminary exam, students will be called for the main exam. The main exam consists of four major subjects. Each subject carries different marks. There will be a total of 155 questions carrying 200 marks in total. After the Objective main exam, descriptive exam of 45 minutes for 30 marks will also be there. You have to qualify in both objectives as well as the descriptive phase.

    The marks obtained in Phase -2 will be considered for final selection

    1.Objective test: The objective test consists of  150 questions carrying 200 marks. There will be four sections in the Phase-2 Reasoning/ Intelligence, General/ Economy/Financial Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude. Sectional timing will be there against each section and you have to attempt the maximum number of questions in that stipulated time.

    2. Descriptive Test: Once you completed the objective test, a Descriptive Paper (English Language with an emphasis on comprehension and analysis) of duration 45 minutes carrying 30 marks will appear on the computer screen. You have to write the article and letter out of the given topics. To be selected finally, one has to clear the cut off of main(objective+descriptive).

    3.Penalty for the wrong answer: Penalty for every wrong answer in both preliminary and main will be deducted. One-fourth of the marks allotted against each question will be deducted as penalty for every wrong answer. So it is advisable not to mark the answer on random guessing to avoid negative marking in the exam.


    EPFO Assistant Eligibility Criteria:



    Essential Should be a citizen of India.
    Education Graduation degree as on 25th June 2019.
    Age limit Minimum- 20 years
    Maximum- Must have no attained 27 as on 25th June


    Essential: He should be a citizen of India. Persons from outside India are not eligible for this post. Refer to the notification for further details.
    Educational: student Must possess Degree from recognized University or equivalent as on 25th June 2019.
    Age limit: A person should be of 20 years and must have not attained the age of 27 years as on 25th June 2019. Relaxation to reserved categories will be given.

    EPFO Assistant Salary 2019:

    Under 7th Pay Commission Salary of Assistant with entry pay Rs. 44,900 (level-7 of pay matrix). In addition, to pay, they will also be eligible for DA, HRA  and other allowances. The employee will also be entitled to the additional benefits and perks and mentioned by the employees’ provident fund organization.

    This section is only in Mains Exam
    Current affairs of at least 6 months, Indian Financial Market, Capital markets and the government, Money Market, stock markets and bond markets, The role of money markets in the financial system, Derivatives markets and private investing, The study of the foreign exchange interbank market, Primary markets and secondary markets, Mutual Funds, Insurance Industry, Insurance Industry,Regulatory Agencies, Special Statutes for Certain Financial Intermediaries, Establishment of FSDC, Financial Stability and Development Council, International Financial Organization.
