IB SA Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Security Assistant post, the minimum qualification required is matriculation (10th pass) from a recognized board. Additionally, the candidate must possess a domicile certificate of the state/UT for which they are applying, as this is a region-specific recruitment.
The age limit for applicants is 18 to 27 years as of the closing date of the application. However, age relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) as per the rules of the Government of India.
Intelligence Bureau SA Recruitment Application Fee
To complete the registration process and be eligible for the exam, candidates have to pay the specified fee, as mentioned below. For the male candidates of General, EWS and OBC categories, the fee is ₹650/-, and for all other candidates, it is ₹550/-.

Intelligence Bureau Executive Selection Process
The selection of candidates for the post of Security Assistant will be done through a three-tier process:
Tier I- Objective Test: This is a computer-based test (CBT) that includes multiple-choice questions to test the candidate’s reasoning ability, general awareness, quantitative aptitude, and English language skills.
Tier II- Descriptive Test: This stage is designed to test candidates’ descriptive writing ability and their knowledge of the local language/dialect of the region they have applied for.
Tier III- Interview: Candidates who qualify Tier II will be called for a personal interview to assess their suitability for the post.
The final selection will be based on the combined performance in Tier I and Tier III, while Tier II is qualifying in nature.
IB SA 2025 Exam Pattern
The IB SA online exam will be conducted objectively. It is divided into 5 parts, containing 20 questions of 1 mark each to be completed in a total time of 1 hour. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks (one-fourth, i.e. 1/4) for each answer marked wrong.

IB Security Assistant Salary 2025
The IB Security Assistant Salary 2025 is based on Level-3 of the pay matrix, which ranges from Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100, along with applicable Central Government allowances. In addition to the basic salary, employees are also entitled to a Special Security Allowance, which is calculated at 20% of the basic pay. Moreover, those who perform duties on holidays can receive cash compensation, subject to a maximum limit of 30 days in a year. These added benefits make the Intelligence Bureau Security Assistant role financially attractive and rewarding.
