The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is all set to release the IBPS PO Notification 2025 earlier than usual. As per the newly released IBPS exam dates for 2025-26, the notification for Probationary Officer (PO) posts will be released before the RRB recruitment drive, expected in June 2025. This marks a significant shift in the usual exam cycle, which typically sees RRB exams being conducted first.
IBPS PO Notification 2025 To Be Released Before IBPS RRB
According to the revised calendar, the IBPS PO Prelims exam is scheduled to begin on 17 August 2025, which means the notification is expected to be released by June 2025. On the other hand, the IBPS RRB exams (for Clerk and Officer Scale I, II & III) are now scheduled from November 2025 to February 2026, hinting at a September release of the RRB notification. This change has impacted the preparation timeline for aspirants, especially those targeting multiple exams.
Big Change in IBPS Exam Calendar
The biggest highlight from the IBPS Exam Calendar 2025, released on 16 June 2025, is the shift in the exam sequence. Traditionally, the IBPS RRB recruitment process begins earlier, but this year, IBPS PO and Clerk exams will be conducted before RRB exams. This change suggests IBPS’s focus on streamlining the recruitment timeline and possibly faster onboarding for nationalised banks.
IBPS 2025 Revised Schedule
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has officially revised its 2025 exam timing, bringing notable changes to the schedule of upcoming banking exams. This revision comes amidst delays in the release of the IBPS RRB notification, raising speculations among aspirants about shifts in recruitment timelines. As per the updated calendar, exams like IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk may now take precedence, with their notifications expected to be released earlier than usual. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website for any further updates and adjust their preparation strategies in line with the new schedule.
What It Means for Aspirants Targeting Both IBPS PO and RRB
With the IBPS PO 2025 exam scheduled before the IBPS RRB exams, candidates aiming for both positions will need to shift their preparation timeline accordingly. Usually, aspirants get time to appear for the RRB first. But in 2025, PO preparation has to be prioritised, especially for Prelims starting on 17th August.
This change could be an advantage if planned well — by starting early, aspirants can build a strong base for PO and then revise quickly for RRB. Since the syllabus overlaps to a large extent (especially in Reasoning and Quant), those who begin with PO-level difficulty will find the RRB exam relatively easier. However, this also means less room for error or delay in starting the preparation.
