National Information Commission has released the recruitment notification for 598 posts for Scientists. NIC Syllabus and exam pattern is a must to clear the NIC Examination. The syllabus and exam pattern is helpful to prepare in an organized manner.  As per the official notification, there are two stages for the Scientist B Examination- written examination and interview round. The written exam for Scientist B has two sections namely – General and Technical. It is mandatory to have detailed information on the NIC Syllabus and exam patterns. The NIC Syllabus 2023 along with a detailed exam pattern is listed on the official notification. But now you need not visit the official notification again and again. The exam will be held for two posts and the selection process for them is as given here.

NIC Exam Pattern For Written Test

The candidates must note that the exam has two sections – Gneric and Technical. The detailed exam pattern for the recruitment is given below.

  1. The question paper would consist of 120 multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  2. The total duration of the exam is 3 hours.
  3. The question paper will have 65% questions from Technical Area and 35% questions from Generic Area.
  4. Every question is for 1 mark.
  5. There is a negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer.
