Selected Candidates will draw a starting basic pay of Rs. 35,150/- p.m. in the scale of Rs. 35150-1750 (9)-50900-EB-1750 (2)-54400-2000 (4)-62400 applicable to Officers in Grade B and they will also be eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family allowance and Grade Allowance as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments or rbi officer salary in hand is approximately Rs. 77,208/-(approx.)

Other perks include Telephone charges, Newspaper, book grant, Spectacles, Furnishing of Residence Allowance, Life Insurance Coverage, Sodexo meal, Medical Insurance, and Educational Leaves etc. as per eligibility.

RBI Grade B Job Profile

As a Grade B Officer in RBI , your work profile will depend upon where you are posted.The duties and responsibilities in different Departments will be as follows:

Managing All the Government Accounts:
Being the officer of Central Bank, you will directly be managing all the government and central bank accounts. Public Sector as well as Private sector banks are regulated by RBI.

Issue and Circulation of Currency:
This is the most important task and you will be maintaining the circulation of currency and coins issued by RBI. All the important decisions like regulations of repo rate, reverse repo rate, SLR, CRR etc. is done by the monetary policy committee of the RBI. So, you will be indirectly contributing towards the financial inclusion of our nation.

Checking & Maintaining Financial Stability:
You will be responsible for keeping a check on inflation, CPI etc. which means you need to control the supply of liquidity in the market.

Currency Issue and Circulation:
Being an RBI Grade B officer, you have to maintain the robust & adequate circulation of currency and coins issued by RBI. Work related to the currency is managed by a special department in which the officer is assisted by a team of assistants and officers.
