Structure of Bank PO Exam

Bank PO exam is held in three stages: Prelims, Main and Interview. Prelims stage is qualifying nature but it is the entry pass for the next stage of the recruitment. The merit list is framed by adding marks of Main and Interview. We have come up with PO Exam pattern which is same for SBI and IBPS PO recruitment whereas for IBPS RRB PO, the pattern varies.

For IBPS PO and SBI PO

Bank PO Exam Study Plan

Due to the wide area, you need to understand how to prepare for PO Exam. Also, students generally crumble the preparation due to which they fail to crack the exam. With the right guidance and strategy, you will make through the PO Exam.

Make your mind first: Be sure that you want to be a Probationary Officer. Make you mind in accordance to that. Do not let your mind get diverted. Make a goal and start your journey.

Look for the exam pattern and take a tour of common areas: Once you have made your mind, you should look for the exam pattern of the PO Exam. The prelims exam and mains exam pattern of both SBI AND IBPS is same while there is difference in the IBPS RRB PO Exam. Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning are the common areas in all the three recruitment. So, you can make a plan accordingly.

Syllabus: Have a look at the syllabus of all the section, this will make you aware of the topics that are to be covered in the exam.  

Previous year’s paper: After the basic steps, you have to take a tour of previous year’s paper that will not only provide you the scoring topics but will also gives detail regarding how the questions are asked in the examination. Solving previous year’s paper should be in your priority list.

Strategy: After knowing the exam pattern, syllabus and previous year’s paper, you are ready to prepare a strategy for each section. You are required to make a slot of all the sections with 1-2 extra slots giving time to revision and paper solving activity. Give importance to the scoring as well as non-scoring topics as you have time now to get a hold over all the topics.

For GA: General Awareness section is prevalent in the mains exam. However, student who want to make through the final list need to go through current affairs and other general awareness topics for getting through all the stages of the exam.

Computer Awareness: It is important for aspirants to have knowledge of computer. So, read the basics of computer, abreviations and about hardware and software.

Descriptive Test: In SBI PO and IBPS PO, you need to go through the descriptive test in addition to the 4 sections of objective test.

Bank PO Exam is generally held in online mode. So, candidates are advised to read and practice through online mode. Use tricks to solve reasoning and quant section. Also, work on the trio: time management, speed and accuracy. This will act as the key in saling through the exam.
