How to Solve Number Series in Quantitative Aptitude Section of SBI Clerk Prelims 2020?

Number Series in Quantitative Aptitude Section of SBI Clerk Prelims 2020- Number series is an important topic from the perspective of SBI Clerk 2020. This topic can help you to score a very good score in Quantitative Aptitude section of SBI Clerk. Number series usually carries 3-5 Marks. Know the series first

It is important to understand the kind of series you are attempting. The two types mentioned above are further divided in to different kinds of Number series as follow:

  • Single stage difference
  • Double stage difference
  • Square Series
  • Cubic Series
  • Square/Cubic with Arithmetic
  • Multiplication/Division series
  • Mix type series

Figure out which type of a number series it is before start solving by following the given steps:

  • Observe whether the series is increasing or decreasing.
  • If it is Increasing then it means something is adding or vice versa and falls under one of the above mentioned kind.

Start Solving It from Largest Number to Smallest

Yes, this is the step which can save you a lot of time in finding out the correct kind of series. Start solving the series from the largest number to smallest number. For ex: 2,4,6,8,10. Try to figure out how we can reach to 10 from 8. This can only be achieved by adding two to 8. If you had solved it from traditional method i.e solving it from smallest to largest then you would be encountering two possibilities. One adding two to 2 to get 4. Second Multiply two to get 2. Hence, You can see how this step can solve you a lot of time.
