IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2020: Exam Fees Increased, Fewer Vacancies In This Year

IBPS Clerk 2020: There have been an increase in the application fee and a drastic decline in the number of vacancies for the IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2020. The Institute of Banking & Personnel Selection every year invited application for Clerical Cadre for Public Sector Banks. This year a total of 1557 vacancies have been released by the 11 participating banks. In the notification, the IBPS has announced the application fee of Rs. 850 for the general candidate and Rs. 175 for SC, ST, PWBD, or Ex-Serviceman for the exam that is going to held in December and January 2020.

Hike in IBPS Clerk 2020 Application Fee 

The application fee has been increased for both reserved and unreserved category of candidates. Since 2013, the application fee was Rs. 600 for general category of candidates which remained same till 2019. In 2020, the IBPS increased the application fee with a jump of Rs. 250 and now the application fee for General category is Rs. 850. Before 2013, the application fee was Rs. 400 for General and OBC candiates.

Similarly, the application fee has been increased for Rs. 75 for other category candidates which was earlier Rs. 100 last year since 2013. The current application fee for reserved categories is Rs. 175. Before 2013, the application fee for reserved category was just Rs. 50. As per the data it can be observed that since the past 8 years, the application fee is nearly doubled for both category of candidates.

Decline in Number of Vacancies

There have been a great demand for Clerical rectuitment among the aspirants and every year lakhs of candidates apply for the same. IBPS is the major recruitment agency which every year conducts examinations for the post of Clerical level. Though there is a huge demand for banking jobs among the candidates, as per the reports, there has been a huge decline of Clerical jobs from last year. The number of clerical vacancies has come down progressively to 1557 in 2020 from 12075 in 2019. For states like Andhra Pradesh, only 10 vacancies have been released which was 777 vacancies last year, and in 2018, 167 vacancies were notified in this state.
