Name: Vaibhav Yadav
Location: BOI, Noida
Time: 1 p.m.
The process started at 1 pm. There were around 150 candidates. First, we had to sign at the gate, then biometric verification and then the document verification. The person was very cool and interacting nicely. Old OBC Certificates are accepted if you have an updated NCL certificate. Then I was sent for the interview. There were 5 interview panels. I was the first interviewee for the panel. There were 5 (4M+1F) interviewers, 1 was quiet.
I went inside and greeted all, “Good Morning”, although it was an afternoon. They asked me to sit.
Q: Introduce yourself.
Answered.
Q: What have you been doing after school?
Answered.
Q: How do you do banking in your daily life, do you go to the bank often?
A: Told them that most of the activities now are online and tasks like Pass-book, chequebook, deposit, and withdrawal are completed from ATM itself.
Q: Why do you want to leave your company and join us?
A: I don’t have any problem with my company, it’s just that I’m attracted towards the banking sector more.
Q: Why is that so?
A: Because it is blooming and provides good growth opportunities.
Q: But you said that the need of bank branches is decreasing as most of the work is being completed online itself. Why do you want to join?
A: Sir my perspective is that large part of India is still not covered in banking and we need more and more branches to do so. Moreover, only public dealing will reduce, rest of the work will remain the same.
Also, I like the nature of work bankers do and also want to settle down with a reputed job.
Q: If your subordinates don’t work, what will you do? As the culture of work in govt is different.
A: Sir Ill try to convince them. If they don’t obey, I’ll consult my sr. If still, they don’t obey, their annual assessment will speak.
I think they were not satisfied by the answer and questioned again.
(I later thought I should have said that Ill ask their problem and will try to solve them :-p)
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Dancing.
They said it was a good way of maintaining your health as well. I agreed and added that I have performed in my school, college and company also.
Q: What are the types of banks?
Answered.
Q: Who controls banks?
Answered RBI.
Q: RBI or GOI?
Answered RBI.
Q: How?
Answered.
Q: What is the share distribution of RRBs.
A: 50 centers, 35 sponsors, 15 states.
Q: Other functions of RBI?
A: To control Monetary Policy.
Q: What is Monetary Policy?
A: To preserve the intrinsic value of the currency.
Q: How does it do so?
A: By varying Reserve Ratios, Policy rates and Open market operations.
