IBPS PO vs IBPS Clerk | Which One Is Easier To Crack

IBPS PO is around the corner and the prelims exam is scheduled to be held from 12th October on 4 days whereas IBPS Clerk is another opportunity and the much awaited exam after IBPS PO among students. IBPS clerk is to be conducted in the month of December. Aspirants with their hardship try to crack either one of them and both. But is it possible to crack IBPS PO Exam and IBPS Clerk exam at the same time? Which exam is easier to crack depends on the various factor that we will be discussing in this article. Similarities between IBPS PO Exam and IBPS Clerk Exam:

There are similarites between the exam pattern of IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk Exam. From the duration of the exam to the negative marking system, everthing looks similar to each other. This also creates ambiguity over the difficulty level of the both. Although IBPS has not officialy mentioned syllabus for the exam but on the basis of last years papers we can conclude the possibilities adn what we can expect for the same. Syllabus for IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk is similar there is no diffrence between these two. Difference lies in the difficulty level as PO is a all India level exam whereas clerk is not. 

Difference between IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk exam:

Many of the students think that preparing for both will bring success to their way due to the similarities between these two. Though the examination patterns look alike, Students may find level of difficulty and complex question in IBPS PO which may not be easy to crack in the given stipulated time. Apart from the difficulty of questions,there is the diffrence between the quantitative aptitude section and Numerical ability section of the two said exams. The ration of the questions based on data interpretation is more in the IBPS PO Exam which may leave the students in the difficult situation to tackle with whereas in IBPS Clerk, DI based questions are asked but not as much as in IBPS PO. Questions from rest of the chapters are also asked in IBPS Clerk mains exam.The total number of questions are same in the exam however level of difficulty may vary in reasoning, English and Quant section. Thus, completing the IBPS PO mains exam in the 2 hours will be a difficult task. 

Difference in the Selection process of IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk exam

IBPS PO mains exam is followed by the descriptive paper and students ahve to qualify both Objective + Descriptive in IBPS PO mains exam whereas IBPS Clerk is free from descriptive test. Students just have to qualify the IBPS Clerk mains to get shortlisted for the final selection. Also IBPS PO is followed by an Interview process which is not there in the clerical cadre exams. But IBPS Clerk conducts the language proficiency test which is qualifying in nature. If you are applying from another state in IBPS Clerk then you must be proficient in the regional language of that state.

Keeping all the similarities aside between the two exams, we can conclude that due to more number of vacancies and no interview process there will be more competition in the IBPS Clerk exam aspirants will compete at the regional level because of the local language test.

Whereas IBPS PO is an all India level exam. The number of vacancies are comparatively less and paper would be difficult. Cut of for IBPS PO is generally lo to IBPS Clerk as it includes the personality test (Interview) as well.
