Entered the room and greeted them.

Chairperson(He was going through my documents and the application form): Okay Sakshi, Where are you from?
Me: Delhi sir. I’m born and brought up in Delhi.

Cp: Okay where in Delhi?
Told Him.

Cp: Rajya Sabha, who’s in Rajya Sabha?
Me: Sir, my father is in Rajya Sabha.

Cp: Okay and what about your mother?
Me: My mother is a homemaker.

Cp: Who else is in your family? what are they doing?
Me: Told about siblings and what they are doing.

Cp: Tell us about your qualification.
Told him about PG, Graduation, and schooling.

Cp: How bank charges/gives interest rates?
Me: Sir Saving Account ki baat kre toh RBI ne minimum rate rakha h banks k liye, 3.5% jo unhe dena padta h saving account pe and lending me RBI ne benchmark rakha h MCL which is marginal cost of fund based lending rate to banks fir uske basis pe lending rate decide karte hai.
Person on CP’s right: What is the marginal cost of funds?
Me: Acted fr 1-2 sec then said sir maine pdha h bt mjhe yaad ni araha h

Cp: What are the other higher interest rates that banks provide other than these?
Me: Sorry sir I don’t know.

Cp: MCLR use kyu karate h?
Me: Sir because it is sensitive to (forgot aage ka sentence so continued in hindi). Sir ye policy rates ko effectively implement krne me helo karega thats why RBI has replaced the base rate by this in 2016. It is basically based on 4 factors.
(before I could tell those 4 factors CP asked another ques.)

CP: Why banking?
Me: Sir because I’m interested in banking and this is the field where i could utilise the knowledge of my subject jitna b maine pdhai kri h jitna seekha h vo sb, banks are the real service provider jahan tk logon ki needs ki baat kre, and ye mjhe financial security dega stability dega and finally satisfaction milega that everyone ultimately wants apni job me.

Cp: Okay but we don’t need mathematics so what is the relevance of mathematics as per you?
Me: Sir basically maine commercial mathematics b pdha h i.e probability and it is used in banking.

Cp(suddenly asked): kahan use hta h?
Me: Sir risk assessment me(then cp and sardarji on his left both nodded in agreement to my answer and i continued) sir usme bankers standard deviation use krte h to quantify the probability of loss.

Cp: If you are appointed in some rural area of Chhatisgarh , then how will you use your mathematics there? kisaano ko maths to ni aati…
Me: Sir mai unhe explain krungi vo kaise apna paisa invest kr skte hai ya savings k treeke bataungi uske elawa jo b banks ki scheme hongi vo b.. 100 ka 200 kaise krlenge vo btaungi..
Tabhi person on the corner left of chairperson asked: Accha 100 ka 200 knsa scheme kr deti h bank ki bhae bank me 100 ka 200 hojata h ?
Me: Yes sir 100 ka 200 ho skta h but time lgega unki investment double hone me interest rates k hisaab se hoge.

Cp: What is the functions of banks?
Me: 1.financing(they finance economic needs like priority sector lending)
2. Deposits accept krte h public k.. they safeguard our money
3. Remittances(jaise DD, NEFT fund transfer k liye)
4. Credit card debit cards issue krte h.

Tbhi person on CP’s ryt:What is the difference between credit card and debit card?
Told them(They were satisfied)
At last I said, sir I have an anxiety.. then the chairperson replied haan bilkul beta bolo apni anxiety and smiled.
Then I asked for the certificate course in banking and he answered to it. I said thank you for the information sir.

Then I stood up and 2 kadam side me and greeted them and finally left the room.

Overall it was a very good experience. I was able to answer all the ques except the marginal cost of fund waala and other interest rates.
