RBI Assistant 2018 Notification, Exam dates & Analysis

The Reserve Bank of India is the central bank of the country. A job in RBI is one of the most sought-after jobs in the country. No doubt, this job provides one with a sybaritic life post her selection for the post, but then, one cannot ignore the fact that there is a huge fight to get there at the same time. Lakhs of aspirants aspire to become a part of the Reserve Bank of India but the number of vacancies released by the bank is considerably low every year. 

Before going for a competitive examination, one must always have an adequate knowledge of the eligibility criteria, application process, syllabus, examination pattern, the changes introduced in the pattern of examination, so that, she knows how she should plan her preparations in a way to do with the syllabus and the revision before the examination takes place. RBI Assistant 2018 Notification

Last year the Reserve Bank of India the notification for the recruitment of RBI Assistants in the month of October and the examinations for the recruitment process were conducted in November and December 2017. This year also, it is expected to be released in October or November. 

RBI Assistant 2018 Exam Dates

Last year, the prelims examination was conducted in the month of October and the mains examination was conducted in the month of December. This year also, the dates of RBI Assistant 2018 Prelims and Mains Examinations are expected to fall in November and December. 

RBI Assistant Admit Card 2018

The admit cards for the prelims and mains examination will be released at least 15 days before these examinations are conducted. The link will be provided here as soon as the call letters for the examination are out.

RBI Assistant 2018 Vacancies

Last year (2017), the number of vacancies for the post of RBI Assistant was 623. The bank releases the vacancies as per the requirement in the bank and we will get an update regarding the same as soon as this year's notification is out.

RBI Assistant Selection Procedure

As per the recruitments held previously, the selection is done through online examinations that will be followed by a language proficiency test in one's local/official language. 

1. Online Preliminary Examination (Objective Test)
2. Online Mains Examination (Objective Test)
3. Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

The final selection was made on the basis of candidate's performance in the online mains examination and LPT is only qualifying in nature.

Note: One will not be selected for the post if she fails the language proficiency test no matter how much she has scored in the preliminary or mains examination.

RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2018

In the year 2017, candidates were required to be in the age group of 20-28 years as on 1st of October 2017 and also, it was necessary for them to be a graduate in any discipline with at least 50% marks. This year, the eligibility criteria to apply for the post of RBI Assistant is expected to remain the same. Rest depends on the notification and you will get an update here as soon as the official notification for the recruitment process is out. 

RBI Assistant Exam Pattern

In the year 2017, the examination was conducted in two stages, i.e. Online Preliminary and Mains Examination (both objective) and the pattern was as follows:

Every year, some or the other changes are introduced in the pattern of banking examination so one cannot be sure if the pattern will remain the same or change. We can only wait for this year's official notification to know what's there this time.

Data Interpretation (Bar Graph, Line Chart, Tabular, Caselet, Radar/Web, Pie Chart), Inequalities (Quadratic Equations, Quantity 1, Quantity 2), Number Series, Approximation and Simplification, Data Sufficiency, Miscellaneous Arithmetic Problems (HCF and LCM, Profit and Loss, SI & CI, Problem on Ages, Work and Time, Speed Distance and Time, Probability, Mensuration, Permutation and Combination, Average, Ratio and Proportion, Partnership, Problems on Boats and Stream, Problems on Trains, Mixture and Allegation, Pipes and Cisterns).

4. General Awareness  Banking and Insurance Awareness, Financial Awareness, Govt. Schemes and Policies, Current Affairs, Static Awareness.

RBI Assistant Application Fees

1. Rs. 50 for SC/ ST/ PWD/EXS Candidates.
2. Rs. 450 for OBC/ General Candidates.

RBI Assistant Result 2018

The results of RBI Assistant Prelims and Mains Exam will be released 15-20 days post the conduction of examinations.

RBI Assistant Cut Off Scores

The cut-off scores released by RBI depends on the number of vacancies announced in that particular year, number of candidates who appear for the examination as well as the level of the examination that is conducted in order to carry out the recruitment process. So, one cannot predict the cut-off score of future RBI Assistant Examination by simply relying on the previous year cut-off scores.   4. what does it mean by "knowledge of word processing in PC"?? I don't have any specific degree in word processing or computer science but i had I.T as a paper in my +2 exams as well as in graduation exams. so am i eligible to apply??
    Further do i need to have a passing certificate in the language of the state i am interested in to apply for the state?

  5. How to convert CGPA to percentage Sir i am graduate in commerce(BAF) mumbai university. From college i got only marksheet which shows CGPA obtained, but Rbi requires percentage. So do we get any other certificate which shows percentage obtained. Please reply...

  15. To convert your cgpa to Percentage?
    Just multiply your cgpa to 9.5 which gives u percentage.
    Eg: my cgpa was 7.8
    So 7.8*9.5 =74.1%
