RBI Grade B Apply online window has been opened on 28 January 2021. RBI has invited the application for a total of 322 vacancies of different posts which are:

· Officers in Grade ‘B’(DR)- General – 270 Posts

· Officers in Grade ‘B’(DR)- DEPR – 29 Posts

· Officers in Grade ‘B’(DR)- DSIM – 23 Posts

RBI Grade B 2021 exam pattern:

This year RBI has changed the exam pattern slightly. As per the notification released the exam will be done through online examination in Phase 1, phase 2, and interview. 

Exam pattern for officers in GR B (DR) GENERAL 2021:

Phase-I online Examination (Objective Type): This will have an objective type question and this exam will be held on 6 March 2021. The paper will comprise 200 marks and a total of 120 minutes will be allotted to the students which will have 4 sections which are:

  1. General Awareness
  2. English Language
  3. Quantitative Aptitude
  4. Reasoning

As per the guidelines issued by the RBI, candidates have to secure minimum marks separately for each test as well as in aggregate, as may be prescribed by the Board. Candidates, who secure minimum marks separately for each Test, as prescribed, will be shortlisted for Phase-II of the examination based on the aggregate marks obtained in Phase-I.

RBI Grade B 2021 Notification Released: Check RBI Grade B Vacancy, Dates, Online Application Process

Phase 2 Examination: All those students who will qualify for the phase 1 examination, will be eligible for the phase 2 examination. The phase 2 examination will be in different shifts. The pattern of phase 2 examination is :

Paper-I: Economic and Social Issues: In this, the exam will have 50% Objective Type questions for which candidates will allow 30 minutes and for 50% Descriptive candidates will have 60 minutes and, answers to be typed with the help of the keyboard.

Paper-II: English (Writing Skills) Descriptive, answers to be typed with the help of the keyboard, and the total time allotted for this will be 90 minutes.

Paper-III: Finance and Management, in this as well the questions will be 50% Objective Type and 50% Descriptive, and answers to be typed with the help of the keyboard, and total time allotted will be 30 and 90 minutes respectively.

Interview: All those students who will qualify for the phase 2 examination will be eligible for the interview based on the aggregate marks obtained in Phase-II (Paper-I +Paper-II +Paper-III).

Exam pattern for officers in GR B (DR) DEPR-2021

For these posts as well selection will be done in three phases Online/ Written Examination (WE) and interview. There are 3 papers for the Examination. Paper I Objective Type (on Economics) to be held on March 6, 2021, and Paper II & III will be held on March 31, 2021(date to be confirmed in admit cards

  1. Paper-I Objective Type (on Economics): Students will be given 120 minutes and the total marks will be 100.
  2. Paper-II Descriptive Type (on Economics) (Question paper displayed on a computer, answers to be written on paper) for this total time allotted to the students will be 180 minutes and maximum marks will be 100.
  3. Paper-III English – Descriptive (To be typed with help of keyboard) total time given to the students will be 90 minutes and total marks of 100.

Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DSIM- 2021

As per the notification released by the RBI selection will be through Online/ Written Examination (WE) and interview. There are 3 papers for the Examination. Paper I Objective Type (on Statistics) to be held on March 6, 2021, and Paper II & III will be held on March 31, 2021(date to be confirmed in admit cards).

Manner of conduct of examinations for GR B (DR)-DEPR /DSIM:

  1. The examination will be conducted on two days i.e. Paper I on March 6, 2021, and Paper II & III will be held separately on March 31, 2021(date to be confirmed in admit cards).
  2.  Paper – I (Objective type on Economics / Statistics as the case may be) will be conducted online and comprise multiple-choice questions.
  3.  Paper-II (Economics / Statistics as the case may be) will be a descriptive type pen/paper-based examination where the questions will be displayed on a computer screen and will be conducted in one session on March 31, 2021.
  4.  Paper – III (English) will be of the descriptive type where the candidates will be expected to type out answers on a computer. (v) The Board reserves the right to modify the exam dates and time entirely at its discretion.
