World Teachers’ Day was remarked by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in 1994. These days also celebrate to celebrate the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO UNESCO Recommendation which focuses on the status of teachers in the interest of quality education.

World Teachers’ Day aims at improving the condition of teachers and educators across the world and appreciating their efforts. Every year a campaign is held by UNESCO and Education International (EI) on different themes that highlight different issues and provide a better understanding of teachers and the profession towards the society and development of the students.
