The full form of JAIIB is Junior Associate of the Indian Institute of the Bankers. JAIIB is a flagship course conducted by the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance(IIBF). The objective of JAIIB Exam is to provide basic knowledge to the employees to carry out their day to day banking operations. Through JAIIB aspirants can acquire knowledge in banking and financial services, banking technology, customer relations, legal aspects, and basic accountancy.

Medium of JAIIB Exam:

JAIIB(Junior Associate of the Indian Institute of the Bankers) Exam will be conducted online. Aspirants can attempt their JAIIB Exam either in English or Hindi medium. At the time of  registration of application for the JAIIB Exam candidates have to clearly mention their choice of medium as it cannot be changed afterwards.

Passing Criteria of JAIIB:

The minimum marks to pass each paper of JAIIB is 50 out of 100. Candidates need to score at least 45 marks in each subject and 50% marks in aggregate in a single attempt to qualify JAIIB Exam. Candidates can retain credits for the subject they have passed in an attempt till the expiry of the time limit for passing the examination.

Time Limit for Passing the JAIIB Exam:

After doing registration for the JAIIB Exam aspirants need to pass this exam in 4 consecutive attempts within 2 years. If the candidates are not able  to qualify within 2-year time limit then will have to re-enroll themselves. The time period of 2 years will commence from the date of registration for the first attempt to appear for the JAIIB Exam.

JAIIB Eligibility Criteria:

The ordinary members of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance(IIBF) can register for the JAIIB Exam. The candidate must have passed the 12th standard or any other equivalent exam and must be working in any of the banking or financial institute.  On the recommendation of the Manager of the bank or officer-in-charge of the bank’s office where the candidate is working, a clerical or supervisory staff can appear for JAIIB Exam even if he/ she is not 10+2 or any other equivalent exam passed.  Subordinate staff of recognized Banking or Financial Institutions in India, and also are the members of the IIBF can give JAIIB Exam, provided they have cleared the 10+2 Boards or any equivalent Exam.

Exam Pattern of JAIIB

There are three papers in the JAIIB Exam: Principles and Practices of Banking( PPB); Accounting and Finance for Bankers(AFB); Legal and Regulatory Aspects of Banking(LRAB). All the papers of JAIIB is further divided into different modules. Each of the three papers of JAIIB will comprise of 120 Questions of 100 marks. The time allotted to complete each paper of JAIIB is 2 Hours. There is no negative marking in the JAIIB Exam 2022. JAIIB Exam is held twice in a year, in May and November and after qualifying the exam the bankers are promoted which ultimately leads to the increment in their salary.
