The list is taken from the official website of rbi.org.in & the holidays in this list are divided in three categories:  Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday and  Banks’ Closing of Account.

Negotiable Instrument act– Any instrument that carries the name of the recipient and the amount to be repaid on a specified date  is known as negotiable instrument. Now, if the date of the maturity date of the instrument falls in any of the day that comes under the Negotiable Instrument Act holidays, then the preceding day of the holiday is considered as the maturity date.

Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday- These are the days on which one cannot carry out the RTGs. The service of RTGs is not applicable on the days falling on these days.

Bank Closing Account– Ist April is considered as the Annual closing of banks and thus observe holiday on this day.
