What is Black Death? Suspected case of bubonic plague found in China’s Inner Mongolia

A City in the Chinese region of Inner Mongolia has reported a suspected case of Bubonic Plague, Bubonic Plague is the most common type of plague which can claim the life of a person in 24 hours. Chinese authorities have issued a warning on the 5th of July, There is Third level alert in the city Bayan Nur after the suspected case the second-lowest in a four-level system. 5th July’s warning lead with four revealed cases of plague in people from Inner Mongolia last November, including two of pneumonic plague, a deadlier type of plague.

The bubonic plague, also known as the “Black Death” in the Middle Ages, is a highly infectious and often fatal disease that is spread mostly by rodents. Plague is caused by hunting and eating of animals so, the authorities have forbids the hunting and eating of animals that carry the plague.

History of Bubonic plague

Today, scientists belives that the Black Death, now known as the plague, is spread by a bacillus Alexandre Yersin French biologist had discovered this germ at the end of the 19th century.

The plague Comes in Europe in October 1347, when 12 ships from the Black Sea anchored at the Sicilian port of Messina. Over the next five years, the Black Death killed more than 20 million people in Europe—almost one-third of the continent’s population.

Symptoms of Bubonic plague

Patients develop sudden onset of fever, headache, chills, and weakness vomiting, diarrhea, terrible aches, and one or more swollen, tender, and painful lymph nodes (called buboes) and then, in short order, death.

Treatment of Bubonic plague

Bubonic Plague is treated with commonly used antibiotics. Various different types of antibiotics are powerful in curing the bubonic plague. These include aminoglycosides such as streptomycin and gentamicin, tetracyclines (especially doxycycline), and the fluoroquinolone ciprofloxacin.
