The final merit list is prepared based on the combined marks of mains examination and interview in the rato of 80:20. The final provisional allotment is done for the students who have successfully clear all the stages of the recruitment  but if at any recruitment stage; it is found that the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility his candidature would be canceled.

The Process After Provisional Allotment

Once the provisional allotment of the banks by IBPS is out then the individual banks take over from here. It is  the responsibility of individual banks to send an appointment letter (offer letter) with the details of formalities to the candidates’ registered email IDs and also to the candidate’s correspondence address which he/she had mentioned during application form. There are some banks that  provide information on their website about formalities or joining schedules.

The appointment or offer letter generally includes the dates of reporting for the training and also the documents & certificates that the candidates need to carry for verification. The mail will also mention about the formality of medical test, if any, whose certificate has to be submitted at the time of the joining.

Time of Joining for training or joining processes?

The time taken by a candidate to call for joining or training process completely depends on the bank but based on the previous year trends  minimum time lag between sending the intimation mail and the result declaration date is usually 20 days or 1 month. It might got delayed as well to two, three or upto six months after the declaration of final result.

Training Process

Majority of the banks conducts 10-15 days long training process which take place at the banks’ own training Centres, zonal offices, or head offices for IBPS PO & IBPS SO for the selected candidates.

Hostels or stay facilities are provided by the banks during this period. The training classes are usually held for 5-6 hours daily wherein candidates are trained in the bank’s processes and normal banking procedures. After the successful completion of the bank training a candidate can actually start working in the bank.

After successfully completion of the training, candidates are finally absorbed in the bank as Probationary Officers/ Specialist Officers (JMG Scale-I) and posted in branches of the bank across India.

While for IBPS Clerk, candidates are directly absorbed in the bank as Clerk and posted in branches of the bank across any district of the same state.
