World Accreditation Day 2022: Significance

To promote the role of accreditation in trade and economy we celebrate World Accreditation Day. This day provides an opportunity for ILAC and IAF members to share examples with stakeholders, regulators, and consumers of how accreditation can be applied to meet the intentions such as increasing trade, addressing environment and health and safety concerns, and improving the general overall quality of output in an economy.

As mentioned by the members of the United Nations there is a total of 17 Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) that have to be attained by 2030. Accreditation provides solutions to execute, measure, and monitor the objectives that are available in the SDGs and then support fulfilling them, but this ambitious plan requires the cooperation of all the parts of the society starting from the individual to the local and national governments. Companies can play an important role in implementing SDGs, improving their sustainability practices in the three macro-areas: economic, social, and environmental.
