On 17 July 1998, a treaty was adopted and with the help of this treaty, the International Criminal Court (ICC) was established.  At the Review Conference of the Rome Statute which was held in Kampala, Uganda on 1st June 2010, July 17 was decided to observe as the World Day for International Justice by the assembly of state parties. To celebrate the anniversary we observe the day as World Day for International Justice. About 139 countries have signed the Court’s Treaty and approximately 80 states have sanctioned it since 17th July 1998.  International Criminal Court is the first permanent and independent international Judicial Institution. When the national court of a country is not capable of carrying out the investigations then ICC gets involved. ICC punishes the individuals accused of serious violations of international humanitarian and human rights.
