World Photography Day 2022: Every year World Photography Day is celebrated on the 19th of August. To celebrate one of the most important art forms Photography, World Photography Day is observed. World Photography Day 2022: History

A Photographic process named “Daguerreotype” was developed by Frenchmen Louis Daguerre and Joseph Nicephore Niepce in the year 1837. Earlier people represented scenes through drawing or painting by hand. In this process a highly detailed image was created on a sheet of copper. The sheet was then coated with a thin coat of silver. In this process there was no use of negative. This was the first method for obtaining a permanent image with a camera. The development  Daguerreotype became an immediate success that was relatively inexpensive and accurate method. It did not take time for the photographic studios to get established all over the world. The French Academy of Sciences announced the process Daguerreotype on 9th January 1839. The Government of France acquired the patent for the invention and gave it as a gift, “free to the world.” The first durable colored photograph was taken in the year 1861. The first digital photograph was invented in 1957.

World Photography Day is commemorated to celebrate the tremendous growth attained by the photography industry. Photography is a means through which stories, ideas, place, experience, and moments are captured and preserved as a memory. One of the means to know about the History and all other facts related to past is through Photography. The moments get captured and remain immortal for generations.
