Today, Prime Minister Narender Modi has launched India’s Covid-19 Vaccination drive which is the world’s largest immunization exercise against the pandemic. India is second to the United States with 10.5 million confirmed cases and ranks third in the number of deaths. India will administer Covid-19 Vaccination shots to three crore frontline workers in phase one. If all goes as per the plan, 30 Crore people may get vaccinated against the contagion by July end. Who made the Covid-19 Vaccine?

Ans: The covid-19 vaccine was developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca and made by the Serum Institute of India.

Does the Covid-19 Vaccine have 100% Efficacy?

Ans: Astra-Zeneca and Oxford University have said that one dosing regimen showing the efficacy of 90%.

Who will get the Vaccine first?

Ans: The first phase of Covid-19 Vaccination will cover 30 Crore people, which will last till August.

This vaccine in the first phase-1 will be available to frontline healthcare workers followed by frontline workers such as safai karamcharis , army, and disaster management volunteers with above 50 years.

This will be followed by people below 50 years of age who have: diabetes.

Ans: The CoviShield vaccine will cost Rs.200/-(Per Dose). The Cost of vaccination for healthcare and frontline workers will be borne by the Central government. Bharat Biotech will charge Rs.295/- (Per Dose).

Ans: The Vaccination is only for people of Age 18 Years or Above.
