BREVIARY (noun) : सारांश
Meaning: a short statement of the main points.
Synonyms: summary, conspectus, encapsulation, outline.
Antonyms: enlargement, expansion, supplement, amplification.
Usage: The Second Vatican Council revised the Breviary and changed its name to Liturgy of the Hours.

REPROBATE (noun) : बदमाश
Meaning: an unprincipled person.
Synonyms: rogue, scoundrel, villain, wretch.
Antonyms: upright, virtuous, principled, righteous
Usage: Although the old man pretended to be a reprobate in public, in private he did a lot of good deeds for the homeless.

FURLOUGH (noun) : थोड़े दिन की छुट्टी
Meaning: leave of absence, especially that granted to a member of the services or a missionary.
Synonyms: break, rest, recess, day off.
Antonyms: rehire, recall, travail, toil.
Usage: I have just learned that Cousin George has got his furlough extended thirty days.

FEUD (Noun) : झगड़ा
Meaning: a prolonged and bitter quarrel or dispute.
Synonyms: altercation, conflict, discord, dispute
Antonyms: accord, agreement, calm, concord
Usage: My grandfather once had a feud with the mayor of his city and they settled it with a duel.

LAUDABLE (adjective)  : प्रशंसनीय
Meaning: (of an action, idea, or aim) deserving praise and commendation.
Synonyms: praiseworthy, admirable, meritorious
Usage: Faith ceases to be laudable when it is blind faith.

OVERTURE (Noun) : सन्धि प्रस्ताव
Meaning: an approach or proposal made to someone with the aim of opening negotiations or establishing a relationship.
Synonyms: approach, proposal, tender, suggestion
Usage: He began making overtures to British merchant banks.

SULLY (Verb)  : भ्रष्ट
Meaning: to ruin or damage
Synonyms: corrupt, defile
Antonyms: clean, enhance
Usage: If the chemical plant is built near the resort, it will probably sully the clean air in the area.

SERVILE (Adjective) : नितान्त
Meaning: eager to serve and please someone else in a way that shows a lack of respect for yourself
Synonyms: abject, beggarly
Antonyms: dominant, aggressive
Usage: The vast majority of bond-servants had been freed in the city, and legally servile statuses largely abolished.

CAPTIOUS(Adjective) : छिद्रान्वेषी
Meaning: always looking for faults; hard to please
Synonyms: censorious, carping
Antonyms: flattering, praising
Usage: When my captious teacher grades my essays, she always finds a minor error in my work.
