General Awareness Strategy for SIDBI Grade A Exam 2022

SIDBI Grade A has two steps of examination: online written exam and interview. In online written exam SIDBI Grade A has a General awareness section which consist 50 questions. It is vital to understand the need of the exam. The questions asked can be divided in 4 categories-

1.Banking and Financial sector : This category has the maximum number of questions in the exam. The questions asked can be further divided into two parts: Current and Static. The student needs to understand that the static questions asked are related to the current news. So student needs to study those topics which are in news. Eg: if there is any changes in rules about NBFC by RBI then the focus should be what is NBFC, Major NBFC in India etc.

The list given below will give a better idea about the topics in this category:

  1. SIDBI: history, functions, notifications, schemes
  2. Head Quarters and functions of various financial institutions: Payment Banks, Neo Banks etc
  3. Major Regulators: PFRDA, RBI, SEBI, IRDAI: their notifications, rules changes, reports
  4. All India Financial Institutions: SIDBI, EXIM bank, NABARD, NHB and the most latest National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID).
  5. Money market Basics: Bonds, Derivatives, Shares, Buy Backs.

2.Economic and social issues :  This section has more tilt towards current section. Student needs to understand that national news and schemes which are related to MSME sector, Women, Employment generation , poverty should be more focused.

3. Static GA: This section has 20% weightage but cannot be neglected by the students:

  1. Important days
  2. Countries and capitals
  3. State CM, governors if there are new appointments
  4. Important places

4. Miscellaneous: This section includes:

2.Appointments

3.Books

4.Summits

5. Obituaries

6. Defence news

7. Science and Technology
