NRA CET 2020: Common Eligibility Test For IBPS, SSC, Railway By NRA

NRA CET 2020: One of the historic decision was taken by the Union Cabinet to set up the NRA to conduct CET for to streamline the screening process for various exam testing agencies and also to save the cost, time and efforts of the students and to make the whole recruitment process more convenient. The setting up of NRA will end the multiple recruitment and once the candidate will qualify the CET, the candidates will become eligible for next round of selection. CET will act as the first step for many exams including banking exams, railways exams, and SSC. The candidates who have to appear for banking exam like IBPS, PO, RRB, Clerk to get selected in public sector banks, they have to pay fees for different exams. The CET exam by NRA will exclude the paying of separate fees for different examinations.

As on 19 August, the Union Cabinet nods for setting up the National Recruitment Agency to streamline the hiring process by conducting a common eligibility test. The NRA aims to streamline the recruitment process and also to decrease the burden of the respective exam testing agencies.

The preliminary exam for all the non-gazetted posts will now be common and will be conducted by NRA i.e. CET Exam and all those candidate qualifying this test will then be eligible to apply for the next tier of the examination i.e Tier-II or Tier-III. The marks obtained by the candidates will be valid for a period of three year with no maximum limit to the number of attempts by a candidate.

National Recruitment Agency & its function?

The National Recruitment Agency was first proposed in the 2020 budget to streamline the recruitment process. As per the current news, it will be established to conduct the single computer-based examination for the recruitment in non-gazetted government posts from 2021. At present, candidates fill multiple forms for multiple jobs and travel multiple times, in order to reduce all the efforts and decrease the burden on the students as well as on the various testing agencies this step has been taken. Now, a candidate will only have to fill one form and a standardised question paper with multiple questions of similar difficulty levels will be set in a central server. Candidates wll be able to obtain their score quickly in this process and it will be valid for a 3-year period.

NRA CET 2020 Exam For IBPS, SSC,Railway

The National Recruitment Agency will initially conduct Common Entrance Exam for 3 agencies namely Staff Selection Commission (SSC), the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). All the exams conducted by these three agencies for Graduate level or higher level recruitment, Higher secondary level recruitment or Matriculation level recruitment will now be conducted as CET by NRA. All the candidates will now have to prepare for a single preliminary examination for all the exams conducted by these three agencies.

NRA CET 2020 Exam Guidelines

Given below are some of the important guidelines related to the NRA CET:

  • The CET Exam will be conducted in Multiple Indian Languages.
  • There will be no bar at attempt and only the upper age limit will be considered.
  • NRA CET score will be valid for three years and students can take the test multiple times and the best score will be considered.
  • Candidates can choose the centre of their choice and based on the availability, the centre will be given to the candidate.
  • CET scores can be shared with the Central Govt, State govt, UTs, PSUs and private sector
  • CET will be conducted at over 1000 centres and every district will have at least one exam centre.

This is a historic decision which will bring a reform in the recruitment process of Government Job. This will reduce the cost burden and travelling burden on the candidates.
