UP India’s first state to present paperless budget

Uttar Pradesh becomes the first state in India to table a paperless budget. The finance minister of UP; Mr. Suresh Khanna is going to present the budget in a paperless manner.

This historical event will be live telecast on Television. All the legislative assembly members have been provided with iPads to view the budget highlights which will be available on the big screens of the assembly house. This fiscal year 2021-2022 budget will be available on an App which is available on Google play store with the name ‘Uttar Pradesh Sarkar ka Budget’ and it will also be available on the internet after the speech of the Finance Minister in assembly. Mr. Khanna said the target to table paperless budget is to make Uttar Pradesh “AtmaNirbhar” and ensure all-around development of the State. It will achieve the dual objective of diminishing the negative economic impact of Covid-19 infection and addressing the populist concern ahead of the all-important 2022 Assembly elections in the state. Some experts said the size of the budget is likely to increase from the previous year to Rs.5.50 lakh crore and it will boost infra projects in the State.
