• “Scribble” has its origin in the Latin word “scribere”. Which means  “to write,” or hasty and often illegible writing.
• International Scribble Day was founded in 2019 by Diane Alber, author of “I’m NOT Just a Scribble,” a children’s book about kindness and acceptance featuring the character Scribble.
• Alber’s idea for a National Scribble Day gained positive feedback from teachers on Facebook, leading her to create this day.
• The day is typically celebrated in schools, where children participate in activities to create their own Scribble character.
