Success Story of Ranjay Sainik Selected as IBPS Clerk in Bank of India

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are having a good day. No doubt, lockdown is quite struggling but talking its positive side, it is an opportunity to prepare for upcoming exams at it’s best. It’s the best time to work hard and crack the upcoming SBI exam.

Cutting it short, I will come to the main point about my journey from BankersAdda to RRB/LIC/BANK of INDIA.

It may be my good luck, I never failed in any PRE exams. But, I missed my first ever banking exam SBI Clerk (Mains) by 0.7 marks. Missed the second one RRB PO (Mains) by 3 marks.

My simple strategy was Practicing Questions and Mock tests Daily. I never left it till 6 months. 6 months is enough time to crack Clerk level exams. I started studying for Banking exams with zero knowledge about the syllabus, exam patterns, Cutoff patterns, and strategy. Even I was unaware of the topics asked in the exams. I started in February 2019 and appeared the first time in SBI Clerk in August 2019. I passed in PRE but failed in Mains by 0.7 marks (EWS) from Bihar. It took a complete 6 months study to build confidence and then I appeared in RRB PO, Again I missed it’s Mains. Then I appeared in RRB clerk, LIC Assistant, and IBPS Clerk and cleared all these exams.

Now let’s come to a few points to share. For the study schedule, make your own routine. Routines and Study periods may vary from person to person and place to place and also on capacity and interest. So don’t try to copy others, just make your own routine and go through it.

I bought the Banking Test series from ADDA247 and attempted one mock test daily. It has a good analysis. All India Rank helps in judging yourself and it keeps the confidence level high. It has a very good combination of questions, very much similar to those asked in exams.

Check the following preparation material for IBPS Clerk 2020 and you too can become an achiever with proper practice:

Here is my Section-wise Strategy:-

English Section:- I regularly go through Articles, be it in newspapers, any magazines, or be it on any web pages. I just love to read them in one go. I think this habit has improved my reading skills, sentence formations, and error finding parts of the exam. Practicing daily mock tests on Adda247 App polishes these skills. Mock test results and test analysis helps to focus on frequent mistakes and makes the command strong.

Quantitative Aptitude:- I think this part totally depends on your command on basic mathematics. Tricks only help those who know the basic method of solving that particular question. Otherwise, tricks will confuse you and give wrong answers instead of reducing time and increasing accuracy. So first we have to learn basic solving methods of each topic then brush it up and then only go for learning tricks. The first focus on accuracy then moves towards reducing time. Again the same thing, Adda247 tests, and analysis have helped me much more.

Reasoning Section:- This section completely depends on practice. Speed and accuracy matter a lot. If you leave attempting mock tests for even 2-3 days, your speed and accuracy will fall a lot. I experienced it, for any reason leaving mock tests for 2-3 days pulled my rank about 200 downwards. So reasoning totally depends on understanding the hidden hints and practicing on a regular basis. Test analysis of Adda247 has a good explanation, it helped me in finding my reasoning weak points.

General Awareness:- I regularly went through daily current news. The source doesn’t matter in this section. Pick any one News app (One-liner) and go through it daily. I went through the daily current affairs updated on Adda247 App. That was more than enough. Never leave reading the news for even a single day because it increases the burden for the next day and reduces memorizing capacity. On average have a command on current affairs of 4-5 months before the mains exam. Don’t be more tensed about statistics. Nowadays I never found too many questions from this part. 2-3 questions are maximum. In many exams, they don’t even touch this section. So Focus on Current Affairs only.

Last, but not the least-Don’t follow other’s strategy. Don’t follow other’s study schedules. These are not going to help you much. Everyone on this earth is unique and has unique capacity and capabilities. So make your own strategy and study schedule and follow it very hard. Only your determination is going to take you to that height.
