All in one, Russia has become the very first country in the world to get a vaccine against COVID 19 now.

More about the Russian Vaccine

The Russian Vaccine to fight against COVID 19 has been named Sputnik V. The name has been suggested with respect to the Cold War Space race.

The vaccine was getting developed in the Gamaleya Institute of Moscow and the testing on humans was going on for the last 2 months. The health ministry of Russia has finally approved it and has mentioned it to be appropriate for fighting against the virus now. Currently, the WHO and UN authorities are also in contact with the health ministry of Russia to understand the qualifications of the vaccine.

The head of the RDIF sovereign wealth fund, Kirill Dmitriev has mentioned that after the announcement of the vaccination as many as 20 countries have already requested it. Russia has received a request of over 1 billion dosages of the vaccine till now. On this basis, the country has mentioned that the industrial production of the vaccination will start from the month of September.

What Experts are saying?

Though Russia has claimed that the vaccination is ready to protect individuals from the ill impacts of COVID 19, there are a number of experts who are raising safety concerns for the vaccination.

In order to develop a vaccine and to come up with proper results of its testing, usually, a good number of months or at times years are invested. A good number of countries across the world are in the process of developing a vaccine and many of them are in the trail stage two.

In such a situation, Russia has become the very first country to develop and complete its trial on humans. The trial period was of 2 months and this has raised some concerns regarding the safety of the vaccination. The United Nations and the World Health Organization is in close contact with the Russian health group in order to understand the proper qualifications of the vaccine so that it can be claimed safe for the usage of the individuals.

Though there is still a small step left out of convincing the experts about the safety concerns of the vaccine, Russia has already stated the vaccine to be safe and ready for usage. It has also claimed that it is going to roll the manufacturing of the vaccines on an industrial level soon from the forthcoming month. Based on this information, many of the countries have already started ordering the dosage.

It will be now an interesting thing to check out whether the experts are convinced of the claims made by Russia or not. Based on the explanations of these experts, it can be said whether the vaccination can be actually used for the purpose of protecting an individual from COVID 19 or not. Other countries are also working on the process but it is still not known whether anyone else is ready to come up next or not.
