Be Prepared for Post-Lockdown Opportunities

The lockdown has been a harrowing time for a lot of students and those aspiring to take up the bank exams. It is expected that the nation-wide lockdown will come to an end on 1 June. There was uncertainty as to when the exams will be conducted and dates being pushed due to the extension of the lockdown. With the current scenario of COVID-19 situation, students still have time to practice and convert their weaknesses into strengths. There is a good news to all aspirants as TCS in a press release has said on 27 May, that TCS iON exam centres are being prepared for post lockdown recruitment exams with social distancing and hygiene norms in place. This means students can expect thing to get back on track very soon.

Venguswamy Ramaswamy, Global Head, TCS iON, said, Exam-conducting authorities are eager to resume assessments and at the same time, are anxious about the safety of students and everyone involved. We are grateful to the health experts from AIIMS and PHFI for providing invaluable inputs to our process for conducting social distanced assessments with all the necessary rigor and care.”

Some of the key norms laid out are:

  • Staggered, touch-free entry into the test venue
  • Checks for symptoms along with Aarogya Setu App status verification
  • Sanitization before entry into the exam hall
  • Touch-free security checks, document verification, and registration
  • Non-intrusive, touch-free identity verification before, during and after the exam
  • Multiple layers of hygiene norms for candidates and exam staff
  • Adoption of social distancing norms at all times

Till the time certain dates are announced for all recruitment exams that have been rescheduled, you can keep working on your skills and try to take up as many mock tests as you can and make practice papers. In a way its an opportunity to fine-tune whatever you have studied. It is hard to be motivated because you have to be in one place and not have the opportunity to get out of the house. The exam notification are expected to be released as IBPS has already declared the results for 2019 and TCS-ION in a press release has also announced that they are preparing exam centres to operate with social distancing and hygiene norms, and for the time being you have an opportunity to work on the subjects that you weren’t so confident or found difficult take up some more tutorials or read up more or take the help online courses or tutors who can guide you make most of this exam preparation time. Let fear not beckon you to stop studying because of the uncertainty of the dates and ongoing recruitment, which will happen as soon as the lockdown is taken care of and probably some kind of normalcy returns.

The dates will be decided when there is relaxation in the lockdown rules, and the students will be able to take up exams. There is never a need to quit the exam preparation. You can work on more as you have a lot of spare time on your hands.
