SBI PO 2020 Preparation: The SBI PO Mains Exam 2021 is scheduled to be held on 29 January 2021. The State bank of India is conducting this exam for the post of probationary officer. Probationary Officer in the most reputed bank,i.e., SBI is a dream job for many but becoming PO in SBI is not an easy nut to crack. It demands consistent efforts, patience, and dedication to making a mark among thousands of students who appear for the SBI PO Exam. SBI PO is three-stage recruitment: Prelims, Mains, and Interview. The Prelims exam has already been conducted. Talking about the exam pattern, the mains exam has 4 sections in which General Awareness is added. Also, SBI PO Mains has a descriptive test as well. Let’s look into the exam pattern first.

SBI PO is a three-tier exam i.e. preliminary exam, main exam followed by Group Discussion & Personal Interview. Here is the pattern:

This test is of 1-hour duration consisting of 3 Sections(with separate timings for each section) and the pattern is as follows:

SBI PO Main Examination
Main Examination consists of Objective Tests of 200 marks and Descriptive Test of 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests is online. Immediately after completion of the Objective Test, Descriptive Test is administered. Here is the pattern of the main exam:

Note: There is the penalty for every wrong attempt in prelims as well as main examination. Also, there is sectional timing but both prelims as well as main exam will have overall cut-off. There will be no sectional cut-off.
SBI PO 2020 Preparation
SBI PO is one of the most popular exam among the youths of our nation. Obviously popularity increases competition and so does the level of exam every year. With high competition and difficulty level, what will sail you through the exam is the smart preparation techniques that are commonly discussed but are rarely followed. It is important to know three questions: what is this exam about, why you want to prepare and how you will prepare. Here are few of the important preparation guide that you should stick to and you will in the end emerge in the flying colors:
Make your mind: Before you jump to the preparation, it is important that you make you mind for becoming a Probationary Officer. It can also be termed as setting a goal. Start your preparation only after making a proper mindset as it is going to take time.
Answer the questions what and why: Once you make your mind, check the work profile, salary and perks, so as to understand what this job is all about. Also, why you want to become a Probationary Officer is also crucial.

Understand the exam pattern and syllabus: Start your preparation by taking a proper glimpse of exam pattern and syllabus. This step should not be skipped at any cost as it will make you aware of the topics and the division of marks for each sections.
Make a strategy: Quant, Reasoning and English are common in both the prelims and mains exam but GA and the descriptive test is an added feature in the mains exam. So, read current affairs daily for 20-25 minutes and allot every other section 1-2 hours on daily basis. Also, you can start writing essay as you will not have time to prepare for descriptive after the prelims exam. So you plan should be a comprehensive target sheet giving importance to all the sections of prelims as well as mains
Previous year’s paper hidden fact: Go through the previous year’s paper. Take note of the topics that are reoccurring. Also, look for the scoring areas. Do not miss on solving previous year’s paper because they are the mirror image of the upcoming exam. To check the trend, you can also check papers of other exam having same exam pattern like IBPS PO, etc
Practice: Start your practice drill. Solve questions of all the important topics as per the trend and previous year’s paper. You have time and you can do anything. Practice has no substitute and it will just enhance your skills, with speed.
Mock Test: Once you are done with a round of practice of important topics, start giving mock test. Mock test must be accompanied with it’s analysis. You should not miss to analyze after you attempt a mock. This will let you know your strengths and weaknesses.
Revise: Revise whatever you are learning at regular intervals so that your mind do not flush out the old things. After 20 days from now, make a revision plan as well in addition to your regular strategy to retain everything you have read so far.
