Who Can Apply for IOB Security Guard Notification 2026?

To apply, candidates must:

• Be an eligible Ex-Serviceman or Ex-Agniveer.
• Meet the prescribed age limit.
• Have passed 10th standard but not Graduation.
• Know Tamil in speaking, reading, and writing.
• Meet the prescribed military medical and character standards.
• Fulfil the physical and medical fitness requirements.
• Possess the required military and identity documents

IOB Security Guard Age Limit

The age of candidates will be calculated as on 1 August 2026.

Minimum Age: 18 years

Basic Maximum Age: 26 years

• Eligible Ex-Servicemen can receive applicable age relaxation based on their military service and category.
• The maximum permissible age can extend up to 45 years, subject to the prescribed rules.

IOB Security Guard Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed 10th standard or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.
• An important condition is that candidates must not have passed Graduation. Therefore, candidates holding a graduation qualification are not eligible for this post.

IOB Security Guard Military Eligibility

The recruitment is open only to eligible Ex-Servicemen and Ex-Agniveers. Disabled Ex-Servicemen are not eligible.

Candidates should have:

• At least SHAPE-1 or AYE medical category at discharge.
• An “EXEMPLARY” character record at the time of discharge.
• Valid military documents such as the Discharge Book and Ex-Servicemen ID Card.

IOB Security Guard Salary

The selected candidates for the IOB Security Guard post will receive salary as per the 12th Bipartite Settlement. The pay scale is ₹19,500 to ₹37,815. The basic pay of the selected candidates will be fixed based on their last drawn defence salary, as per the applicable rules. Candidates will also receive other admissible benefits and allowances according to the bank’s service rules.

IOB Security Guard Selection Process 2026

The selection process for IOB Security Guard Recruitment 2026 consists of three stages: an Online Objective Test, Local Language Test, and Physical Fitness Test.

Online Objective Test

The online examination carries 80 marks and includes the following sections:

IOB Security Guard Tamil Language Requirement

Candidates applying for the Chennai/Tamil Nadu vacancies must be able to speak, read, and write Tamil. Their proficiency will also be assessed through a 20-mark Local Language Test.

IOB Security Guard Physical & Medical Fitness

Candidates must qualify the Physical Fitness Test, which carries 100 marks and includes:

• Push-Ups – 30 marks
• Sit-Ups – 30 marks
• 1 km Run – 30 marks
• Drill Test – 10 marks

A Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner not below the rank of Civil Assistant Surgeon is required. The certificate must be issued within 15 days of the Physical Fitness Test.
